Official ST09 Site Update: Check Out New ‘Panoramas’ Inside The New USS Enterprise

The official site for the new Star Trek movie has just added a brand new ‘PANORAMA’ feature that gives you interactive 360 degree views of sections of the USS Enterprise. As of now you can choose to get a close look at two different corridors on the ship, including ‘zoom in’ on various control panels, details and screen shots below.

Star Trek The Exhibition Beams Into Detroit This Weekend

On February 14th the first ‘engagement’ of Star Trek The Exhibition, makes its Midwest debut at the Detroit Science Center. The Exhibition features genuine Trek memorabilia along with recreations and motion simulator rides. TrekMovie has full details along with other related activities at the science center and comments from Star Trek vet Mike Okuda who is helping put it all together.


Alan Dean Foster Writing Star Trek Movie Adaptation

One of the last pieces of the multimedia rollout for the new Star Trek movie has finally been revealed. Today Pocket Books confirmed with TrekMovie that veteran sci-fi novelist Alan Dean Foster is writing the adaptation for the new Trek feature. Paramount To Show Star Trek ‘Sneak Peek’ At WonderCon

They skipped San Diego Comic Con last summer and New York Comic Con last week, but Paramount is bringing a Star Trek panel to WonderCon in San Francisco in just over two weeks. Today the full schedule for WonderCon was announced and included is a ‘sneak peek’ and a ‘special guest’ from the new Star Trek movie. There are other Trek related panels as well, including one with yours truly. 



Star Trek The Experience To Re-open in May? (Maybe)

Star Trek The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton closed its gates for final time last September, but soon after TrekMovie and the Las Vegas press reported that talks were under way to find a new home in downtown Las Vegas at the Neonopolis center. Now the manager of Neonopolis is talking about opening up in time for the new Star Trek movie in May, TrekMovie has done some double checking to see how doable that is.




Make Your Own Star Trek Animations At GoAnimate.com – TrekMovie Takes A First Look

Today Star Trek is getting (re)animated, and this time you are the one calling the shots. CBS has hooked up with GoAnimate.com, a site with the motto ‘anyone can animate,’ to give fans the ability to create their own Star Trek animated stories, based on the classic Original Series. Star Trek VOIP/Skype USB Communicator Coming Soon + Bluetooth Communicator Later in 2009

Last year CBS announced that one of their new Star Trek licensees was Dream Cheeky, the maker fun computer accessories. Dream Cheeky revealed their first Trek Device, a USB TOS communicator, at the recent CES show in Vegas. Tyler Perry On His Role In Star Trek & Being Directed By JJ Abrams

Star Trek Commercial 2nd Most Memorable Super Bowl Movie Spot

Last weekend Paramount dropped some big cash on a number of Super Bowl commercials, including one for JJ Abrams Star Trek (each 30 second spot estimated by Variety to cost around $2 Million). On Monday we reported that media analysts were mostly positive about the spot and now there are three new online polls showing that the Trek ad  is rating as the penultimate movie commercial of the 2009 Super Bowl.
