Brad & Kate: A Star Trek Love Story – Couple Wed On USS Enterprise [VIDEO]

Last weekend two lucky Star Trek fans got to have their wedding in the Final Frontier. Brad Siegel and Kate Erwin, winners of a contest held by the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, got married on Sunday on a replica of the USS Enterprise D bridge at Star Trek The Exhibition. The couple has sent TrekMovie a special video telling their story from a proposal at a convention to the wedding itself. 


Star Trek Movie ‘Rising From Titan’ Images Available Online

One of the more dramatic moments from the Star Trek movie was when the USS Enterprise rises from the clouds of Saturn’s moon Titan. This scene was actually suggested by the science advisor Carolyn Porco, who also leads the imaging science team for NASA’s Cassini mission to Saturn. Now Paramount has given Porco a couple of beautiful high res images of that scene for her website.

Shatner & Nimoy Talk Star Trek Movie & More At DragonCon – VIDEO

This morning DragonCon kicked off in Altanta, and the first event in the impressive Star Trek schedule was an appearance by the original Kirk and Spock, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Reports are coming in apparently the new Star Trek movie was the focus for the pair speaking to a crowd of over 2000. We have a summary and some video below. 



Star Trek Headed Back To IMAX For 2nd Limited Run [UPDATED]

In May JJ Abrams Star Trek movie opened for a limited run at IMAX theaters around the world, setting IMAX records. However the film was out of most IMAX theaters after a few weeks to make room for Night at the Museum. If you missed it you have another chance as IMAX just announced a second limited run of Star Trek at select theaters, starting this weekend. Art Directors Guild Honoring Star Trek Designers At Hollywood Event

Later this month The Art Directors Guild will be honoring the designers of the final frontier at their "Star Trek: 45: Years of Designing the Future" event in Hollywood. On hand will be veterans of Trek design including Herman Zimmerman as well as Star Trek 2009’s Scott Chambliss. They will be showing clips as well as the Director’s Edition of ST: The Motion Picture. Our friend Daren Dochterman will be moderating the panel.  




New Best Of TOS & TNG DVD Sets Announced + More TOS S2 Blu-ray Details + Paramount Joins RedBox

This Fall continues to shape up to be huge with regards to Star Trek on home video with a ton of releases already announced and Paramount and CBS just added two new ‘Best of’ DVDs (TOS & TNG). We also have revised art for the Season 2 TOS Blu-ray and some clarifying details on the HD DS9 and TAS episodes in that release. Finally we have a guide to all the upcoming Trek home video releases.


Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart & More Headed To DragonCon’s TrekTrak on Labor Day Weekend

The biggest fan run convention is DragonCon in Atlanta, and every Labor Day weekend they have an impressive dedicated ‘TrekTrak’. This year is no exception with a huge line-up of Trek celebs including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Kate Mulgrew and Patrick Stewart. More From Orci & Kurtzman On Star Trek Sequel Script Development

Star Trek scribes Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman have another sequel update from the TCA  event this week (promoting Fringe). Regarding the Trek sequel, they corrected Zoe Saldana’s recent estimate that the script was ‘half done’, again noting they haven’t started yet. They also talked about the balance of new stories vs elements of TOS, writing with Lindelof and more. Details below .

Con Report: Star Trek New Jersey 2009

Creation Entertainment got their Star Trek Summer convention season going with their East Coast Star Trek convention in Parsippany, NJ over this past weekend. On hand were many big Trek celebs, including Jeffrey Combs, Kate Mulgrew, Conner Trinneer, John Billingsley and the headliner, Leonard Nimoy.
