Leonard Nimoy Talks Longevity Of Star Trek + Finding His Way In Retirement

This weekend Star Trek legend  Leonard Nimoy will receive an honorary doctorate from Boston University. He will also be giving the convocation address at the BU College of Fine Arts. In advance of the event Nimoy spoke to the college’s newspaper about growing up in Boston, and a bit about Star Trek as well. See excerpts below.

New Interactive Book To Tell Illustrated History Of Star Trek’s Federation

One of the more exciting pieces of Star Trek non-fiction has been announced today. "STAR TREK Federation: The First 150 Years" is new officially licensed hardcover book that will cover history for the first 150 years of the United Federation of Planets. The book comes with bonus historical documents and an interactive electronic pedestal that includes a narration by George Takei. More details and images below.










Simon Pegg To Start Shooting ‘The World’s End’ This Fall – Finishing ‘Cornetto Trilogy’

Yesterday Simon Pegg wrapped up his work on the Star Trek sequel and he already at work on his next project, shooting a guest spot on a TV pilot. And it was just announced that filming on highly-anticipated third entry of his "Cornetto Trilogy" collaboration with Edgar Wright and Nick Frost will start in September. Star Trek co-writer/producer Alex Kurtzman’s directorial debut People Like Us hits theaters next month. Starring Elizabeth Banks and Star Trek’s Chris Pine, the family drama was co-written by Trek’s Bob Orci. A new "sizzle reel" has been released with scenes along with Kurtzman and Pine talking about the film. Watch it below.

Season 2 of Star Trek sequel actor Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock hits PBS this weekend and the actor is out promoting the show. Benedict Cumberbatch Auditioned For Star Trek With iPhone + Talks About Shooting At Bud Plant

The casting for the Star Trek sequel came down to the wire and in a new interview, actor Benedict Cumberbatch reveals that he has a friend’s iPhone to thank for getting him the part. Details below.
