CBS Releases New Video Preview of Star Trek TNG on Blu-ray

Besides the Star Trek movie going into production later this month, the other big project going on these days is the transformation of Star Trek: The Next Generation into HD. A sampler disc of four episodes comes out on Blu-ray at the end of the month with the first season coming later this year. Today CBS released a new video showing off the HD version. First Trailer For Prometheus – Alien Prequel Written By Damon Lindelof

We wont be getting a new Star Trek movie until the summer of 2013, but sequel co-writer/producer Damon Lindelef does have a big sci-fi movie coming out next summer: Prometheus. Lindelof wrote the Alien (sort-of) prequel for director Ridley Scott and the first trailer has been released. Check it out below. New Vulcan Story Coming To Star Trek Comics In March

So far IDW’s new ongoing “Star Trek” comic series set in the new movie universe have been doing new spins on stories based on original Star Trek series episodes. However, for issue #7 (coming March 2012) IDW will begin a brand new two-issue story dealing with the Vulcans and the aftermath of their planet’s destruction. George Takei Calls For Star Trek/Star Wars Peace – And Twilight War

Recently a small Star Trek / Star Wars “feud” erupted online between William Shatner and Carrie Fisher. Now George Takei has entered himself into the feud in an effort to calm to the situation. Star Trek: TNG Blu-ray sample disc announced for January 31; Season 1 later in 2012

CBS Home Entertainment has officially announced that Star Trek: The Next Generation will be available in high-definition for the first time ever on January 31, 2012. The previously announced sample disc — ‘The Next Level’ — will be followed by the complete first season Blu-ray later in 2012. Details over the jump.







Star Trek Sequel Stars Havent Seen Script + Charity Event Photos w/ Quinto, Saldana, Cho, Yelchin, & Eve

The Star Trek sequel starts shooting next month and the team is busy casting, but details on the film are still being kept under wraps. At a gala event last Thursday, the returning Star Trek stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and (new star) Alice Eve joined producer/director JJ Abrams at a charity event in Beverly Hills, where some revealed they still haven’t seen the sequel script. Watch: Simon Pegg’s Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol Featurette

Star Trek sequel producer/director JJ Abrams has one last thing to get off his desk and that is the release of Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol on December 21st. Also returning for the fourth Mission is Star Trek’s new Scotty Simon Pegg, reprising his role as Benji the tech. Paramount has released a featurette and clip with Pegg.
