Wil Wheaton Geeks Out On Leverage — Interview + See A Clip

TNT’s heist show Leverage is no stranger to Star Trek, earlier this year TrekMovie talked to Jonathan Frakes about an episode he directed with some Trek vet guest stars. The show also makes regular Star Trek references. This week it has both, with Wil Wheaton coming on for a guest spot. TrekMovie participated in a conference call and talked to the actor about what it was like playing a geek on Leverage (big stretch!).



Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart & More Headed To DragonCon’s TrekTrak on Labor Day Weekend

The biggest fan run convention is DragonCon in Atlanta, and every Labor Day weekend they have an impressive dedicated ‘TrekTrak’. This year is no exception with a huge line-up of Trek celebs including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Kate Mulgrew and Patrick Stewart. VegasCon09 Finale: Three Spocks and a Shatner

The Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas came to an end on Sunday, with the biggest stars of the original Kirk and Spock (William Shatner & Leonard Nimoy. plus the new new Spocks (Zachary Quinto and Jacob Kogan). In what is becoming a new tradition for the annual Star Trek Las Vegas Convention, Manny Coto and Brannon Braga held a well-attended panel in the main ballroom to talk to the fans about their time as writers and producers on Star Trek, with a focus on Star Trek Enterprise, but also some discussion of the new movie, and their current series.

Saturday at the Creation Star Trek Convention was just jammed pack with Star Trek celebrities. The day included a number of guest actors from the Star Trek feature films, including Christopher LLoyd, as well as stars from all eras of Trek, with George Takei, Linda Park and a whole panel of Voyager stars. The Creation Entertainment official Star Trek Convention was back Friday with DS9 and Enterprise panels, Brent Spiner, Bob Picardo and Ethan Phillips performing, and a number of stars remembering Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. Stars talked about everything from the art of film, to the acting abilities of Spot the cat, to behind the scenes stories. Con Report: Star Trek New Jersey 2009

Creation Entertainment got their Star Trek Summer convention season going with their East Coast Star Trek convention in Parsippany, NJ over this past weekend. On hand were many big Trek celebs, including Jeffrey Combs, Kate Mulgrew, Conner Trinneer, John Billingsley and the headliner, Leonard Nimoy. It has been a busy 24 hours for William Shatner. Firstly, it seems Bill and Conan have moved on from the ‘salute incident‘ as The Shat appeared on The Tonight Show to do a comedy bit last night. In other William Shatner news, today he got involved in a Greenpeace event protesting toxic chemicals being used by HP, you can listen to his message to HP employees below too.




Trekkies Guide To San Diego Comic Con 2009

This weekend (kicking off with a preview tonight) is the annual San Diego Comic Con. Although there are no major Star Trek panels, Trek will still have a big presence at the show from the Paramount Home Entertainment Booth, to the other licensees (including some selling exclusives). There are also Trek celebrities showing up at booths and panels. We have all the details below.

Jonathan Frakes Narrating New Science Doc On History Channel – Clip From Show On Cloaking Devices

Star Trek stars are no strangers to the world of voice-over and narration and with all that practice at technobabble, they are naturals for narrating documentaries on space, science and technology. The latest is Next Gen’s Jonathan Frakes who is narrating a new show on The History Channel called "That’s Impossible" The show airs Tuesday (with two episodes airing tonight). Happy Birthday Patrick Stewart

There may be two Captain Kirks but there still is only one Captain Picard. Today is Patrick Stewart’s 69th Birthday. Although he has handed in his space suit to return to his home in the theater, Star Trek fans still remember the leader of The Next Generation on TV and film. See below for the latest on Patrick.
