The spot was met with heavy criticism from fans and critics alike who were vindicated when the film’s co-writer and co-star Simon Pegg essentially apologized for the action packed advert. Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz spoke out today on what is surely the only real question we should be asking candidates for the highest office in the United States: Kirk or Picard?
