Yesterday Benedict Cumberbatch’s Star Trek Into Darkness character finally got a name, but this name didn’t exactly line up with what we had been lead to believe about the character. Luckily TrekMovie had a chance to dig deeper into this by talking to two of the film’s screenwriters: Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. See what they had to say, but again beware of spoilers.


Save the bridge! A behind the scenes look at the project to restore the Enterprise D bridge

“Imagine being a Star Wars fan driving past Lucasfilm, and seeing the Millennium Falcon in a dumpster.” Would never happen, right? Well, it did. Only it wasn’t Star Wars, and it wasn’t that infamous Corellian freighter found in a trash heap, it was the bridge of the finest ship in the galaxy, the USS Enterprise-D. And the Star Trek fan that found it is named Huston Huddleston, and he’s currently working to restore the bridge set to its former glory. I talked at length with Huston about how he was able to acquire the Bridge, the details of how he started his project to restore the set, how the project is going, and the support he has gotten from fans and Star Trek professionals alike.


Extensive Interview w/CBS Digital on Star Trek TNG Blu-Ray

The Next Generation is currently being digitally remastered for release on Blu-Ray, and it’s a huge job to say the least. Our friends over at TrekCore recently sat down with the CBS Digital remastering team and talked with them about the process. The extensive 5-part interview is a very in-depth and technical look at the project, and it reveals some interesting tid bits like how the team is digging up 25-year old bloopers and outtakes thought to be lost. VegasCon10: Video Preview Of Sunday’s Star Trek Auction

On Sunday there is going to be a live Star Trek auction at the Star Trek convention (you can also participate online). The original Star Trek memorabilia comes from the collections of a number of Star Trek vets, plus there are a number of pieces from Star Trek: The Experience. PropWorx CEO Alec Peters gave TrekMovie a guided tour of the preview on display in Vegas. Check out the video below.
