Star Trek: The Video Game comes out next week. I have had a chance to play with the game a little and give you first impressions of the game below, along with four game play videos. Plus there is a new making-of video released by Paramount showing the new Star Trek doing their voice work for the game.
Last night we reported on footage from Star Trek Into Darkness from CinemaCon 2013 in Las Vegas. We now have video of Damon Lindelof, Chris Pine, Alice Eve, Zachary Quinto and John Cho talking about the movie before they showed the footage. Watch that below plus some interview clips with the group.
Not to be outdone by Quinto, Pine and Cumberbatch, Star Trek’s new Uhura Zoe Saldana is on the cover of a couple of new magazines including the May issue of Latina and InStyle’s annual Hair issue. In her Latina interview actress talks about how she was initially reluctant to take on the Trek role, but a Trekkie in her family helped change her mind. More details below. .
Chris Pine is gracing the cover of another magazine – Esquire UK – due out tomorrow. Excerpts from his cover story interview are now online, where he talks about his initial resistance to taking on the role of Capt. Kirk. Zoe Saldana may soon be getting painted up to play a green alien in a big franchise sci-fi movie – and it isn’t a Star Trek movie. It is being reported that the new Uhura is in talks for Marvel’s upcoming big super-hero movie Guardians of the Galaxy. More details below.

Karl Urban isn’t the only new Star Trek star who has nabbed an acting gig from a Trek producer this pilot season. Now news comes that John Cho has been cast in a guest role for Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman’s Sleepy Hollow Fox pilot. Bob and Alex have also sold a new sci-fi movie project to Universal. 2013 is a big year for Chris Pine with Star Trek Into Darkness in May and Jack Ryan in December. And heading these two franchises has earned Pine the Male Star of The Year award from the National Association of Theater Owners.
JJ Abrams is making another sci-fi TV show and he is bringing one of his Star Trek stars on board. Today it was announced that Karl Urban will be starring in Abrams show Human on Fox. On Friday William Shatner’s voice will be heard in the animated feature Escape From Planet Earth. While doing publicity for the movie, Bill again weighed in on the new Star Trek, this time heaping praise on director JJ Abrams and the new Kirk, Chris Pine. More details (and video) below. Star Trek’s new Spock Zachary Quinto is a dog lover – known to tweet many pictures of his pet dog. To show his love for furry friends he has produced (and starred) in a short film promoting pet adoption. You can watch "Dog Eat Dog" below.

In a new interview promoting his work on American Horror Story, Zach said something which could (if viewed in a certain way) be interpreted as possibly saying he might not return for a third Trek film, following Star Trek Into Darkness.

In the last day as part of their People Like Us publicity tour, both director Alex Kurtzman and star Chris Pine have ended up discussing the Star Trek sequel and specifically the arc of Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, with both noting that the end of the 2009 movie was not the end of their journey to becoming like the crew of the original series.
