Karl Urban, Star Trek’s new Dr. McCoy, is starring in another big sci-fi movie – Dredd – coming out in September. And today Lionsgate released a full trailer for the film adaptation of the comic book. Check out all the Karl grimacing in a bleak future goodness below. Alex Kurtzman’s new film People Like Us held its premiere at the LA Film Festival and he and star Chris Pine of course ended up talking more Star Trek at the event and associated junket. Star Trek’s Chris Pine could be headed to Broadway. The actor is reportedly in talks to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in a revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Apparently Pine is now the leading contender for the part, with The Avengers’ Jeremy Renner also in the running. More details below.

Star Trek’s new Uhura Zoe Saldana’s next film is a romantic drama with Bradley Cooper coming out this fall. The Words tell he story of a writer (Cooper) who goes to the extremes for his career, with Saldana playing his wife. The first trailer has just been released. Watch it below.

On Saturday Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto picked up a couple of Independent Spirit awards for Margin Call, for his debut film as a producer. Also on hand presenting at the Spirit Awards was his co-stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana. And in a small Star Trek world connection, Saldana presented a Spirit award to Christopher Plummer (Chang from STVI). Plummer also won an Oscar on Sunday. Chris Pine, Star Trek’s new Kirk, has a new movie opening today (This Means War) so last night he took some time off from shooting the sequel set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While there Chris talked briefly about shooting Trek, travel, cartoon crushes, and his Kardashian connection. Jimmy also arranged a phone call with Chris’ high school crush Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer). Watch it below.
Star Trek’s new Kirk Chris Pine is being sued by his former talent agency. Pine left the agency in late 2011 and now they are alleging he owes them compensation for a number of current and future projects. The suit also reveals Pine’s Star Trek salary. More details below.
