REVIEW: Star Trek: The Motion Picture Complete Score

“There is no comparison!” was the tagline for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, presumably a reference to 1977’s Star Wars. While certainly debatable whether true, the tagline is arguably applicable to the treatment given to Jerry Goldsmith’s soundtrack with the new LaLa Land Records’ Star Trek: The Motion Picture Limited Edition 3CD set. Film Review: Prometheus

With Prometheus (in theaters today) director Ridley Scott returns to the film universe he started with Alien in 1979. Co-written by Star Trek’s Damon Lindelof, the new movie is a worthy addition to the Alien franchise, but also a different film that poses as many questions as it answers. E3 Star Trek Game Demo Impressions + New Demo & Booth Video

At the big E3 gaming show in LA this week, Paramount and Namco Bandai are showcasing the upcoming Star Trek coop game, set in the new movie universe. There are long lines to get in to see a demo, but we here at TrekMovie can now share some of that demo footage, plus a new look at a Gorn from the game, shots of the E3 both, and my impressions of the demo.

Review: Star Trek First Contact Complete Motion Picture Score

The original 1996 soundtrack for Star Trek: First Contact was limited to about 45 minutes, and as such, much of the music was excised. Now, GNP Crescendo’s Star Trek: First Contact Complete Motion Picture Soundtrack restores the entire soundtrack, giving fans the chance to listen to isolated tracks never before available. TrekMovie.com makes contact with the CD to provide this review of Jerry (and Joel) Goldsmith’s compositions for one Star Trek’s best loved feature films.

First Impressions of Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Next Level on Blu-ray

The "Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Next Level" sampler disc comes out on January 31st and TrekMovie got an early review copy.
