Today is the second Friday in June and the number one movie at the American box office is a Star Trek movie. And on the second Friday in June of 1989 another Trek film opened, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, to an entirely different reception. This weekend TrekMovie begins a 20th anniversary look back at STV with a series of articles, starting with this (repost of our 2008) retro review.

Game Review – Star Trek DAC (XBox 360)

It is common for big summer movies to have their own videogames, usually loosely following the storyline of the film, with maybe a few new perspectives thrown in. The new Star Trek film has a videogame, however Paramount has taken a different approach with "Star Trek DAC," which is a budget-priced arcade shooter ‘inspired’ by the Star Trek feature film. Review – Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 – Blu-ray [UPDATED]

Back in September 2006 CBS commemorated the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek by going back to the original film and digitally remastering the series for the HD era, cleaning up the images and adding new CGI special effects. Previous HD-DVD & DVD releases were available with only the new. But now thanks to the benefits of Blu-ray, fans have a choice (original or CGI), and can see Trek in 1080p.
