VegasCon09: Braga & Coto Talk Enterprise Season 5 + Star Trek 2009 & more

In what is becoming a new tradition for the annual Star Trek Las Vegas Convention, Manny Coto and Brannon Braga held a well-attended panel in the main ballroom to talk to the fans about their time as writers and producers on Star Trek, with a focus on Star Trek Enterprise, but also some discussion of the new movie, and their current series.


VegasCon09: Saturday – Guest Movie Actors + VOY Panel + Park & Takei

Saturday at the Creation Star Trek Convention was just jammed pack with Star Trek celebrities. The day included a number of guest actors from the Star Trek feature films, including Christopher LLoyd, as well as stars from all eras of Trek, with George Takei, Linda Park and a whole panel of Voyager stars. VegasCon09: Friday – DS9 & Enterprise Panels + Spiner + TrekMovie Events + Remembering Majel + more

The Creation Entertainment official Star Trek Convention was back Friday with DS9 and Enterprise panels, Brent Spiner, Bob Picardo and Ethan Phillips performing, and a number of stars remembering Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. Stars talked about everything from the art of film, to the acting abilities of Spot the cat, to behind the scenes stories. VegasCon09 – Thursday Kicks Off Con With Frakes & Dorn Clowning + Klingons Singing + more

The Creation Entertainment official Star Trek Convention kicked off on Thursday in Las Vegas with a lot of Klingons, TNG heavyweights Michael Dorn and Jonathan Frakes, and a number of Trek guest stars, including some convention first timers. The day ranged from debating new Star Trek movie, to singing, behind the scenes scoops. We have a full report of the day (and evening party) with pictures below.



TrekMovie Hosting ‘One Last Trek’ Star Trek Screening Friday @ VegasCon + TrekMovie on TrekCast

TrekMovie is gearing up for the big Star Trek convention which kicks off this Thursday in Las Vegas. Last week we announced a pre-con TrekMovie meet-up on Wednesday, and today we are announcing a special ‘One Last Trek’ meet-up to watch the Star Trek movie at a local theater in Vegas, complete with post-movie Q&A and some prizes & give-aways. Con Report: Star Trek New Jersey 2009

Creation Entertainment got their Star Trek Summer convention season going with their East Coast Star Trek convention in Parsippany, NJ over this past weekend. On hand were many big Trek celebs, including Jeffrey Combs, Kate Mulgrew, Conner Trinneer, John Billingsley and the headliner, Leonard Nimoy. Official Star Trek Vegas Convention Shaping Up To Be Huge – TrekMovie Will Be There

Next week is the annual official Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. This year has quite the stellar line-up, including the original Kirk, three Spocks and lots of first-time convention stars like Christopher Lloyd. There are also many night time activities lined up, including a TrekMovie meet-up and a Roddenberry party. Details below.



First Look At Quantum Quest – a 3D Animated Aventure Featuring Pine, Shatner & more Trek stars

Did you know there is a movie coming out that features both Kirks, Chris Pine and William Shatner…plus Brent Spiner, Robert Picardo, Mark Hamill and other vets of Star Trek and sci-fi? It is the 3-D animated film Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey which is has a panel at Comic-Con Thursday. Writer-producer Harry Kloor gave TrekMovie a preview, including exclusive first look at images.  



Trekkies Guide To San Diego Comic Con 2009

This weekend (kicking off with a preview tonight) is the annual San Diego Comic Con. Although there are no major Star Trek panels, Trek will still have a big presence at the show from the Paramount Home Entertainment Booth, to the other licensees (including some selling exclusives). There are also Trek celebrities showing up at booths and panels. We have all the details below.


“Amok Time” Performed Live in Portland ‘Trek in the Park’ + TWOK Performed in Kansas City Tonight

Doing ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ during the summer is so passé. This year Star Trek is all the rage, and so the Atomic Arts’ theater company in Oregon is holding "Trek in the Park." During the next two weekends you can see a live version of "Amok Time" in Portland, Oregon.  [UPDATE: and Wrath of Khan being performed tonight in Kansas City]

This weekend is the annual TrekFest in Riverside Iowa (the futre childhood home of James T. Kirk). On hand will be stars of the classic Star Trek, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, and George Takei. Nichols has a new interview promoting the event, where she talks about her career and what she thinks of the new Star Trek movie.

Report From Mexico City Star Trek Press Conference (w/ Pictures & Video) + JJ Talks Sequel

The Star Trek movie has opened in most markets around the world, but there are a handful left, including Mexico this weekend. To promote the Mexican premiere JJ Abrams went down to Mexico City with Zachary Quinto, Roberto Orci and Zoe Saldana. Star Trek: The Exhibition Launches New Site + Science Museums Still Showing ST09 in IMAX

Starting in 2008 there have been two ‘engagements’ of Star Trek: The Exhibition, a touring museum exhibit of Star Trek set pieces, costumes and props and more. Now ST: TE has a new central website with info and where you can get notified when it comes to your town. And in other Star Trek museum news, a number of science museums are still running Star Trek in IMAX.  



Star Trek: The Experience Expected To Re-open In 2010 + Part 2 of ST:TE Documentary

Star Trek The Experience closed down at the Las Vegas Hilton last September, but since October we have been reporting that it may have new life at a new location in Vegas. According to the best info we can gather, it looks like a new STTE will be back in 2010 at Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas. More details below plus a new entry Vernon Wilmer’s STTE Documentary.



Live Coverage Of Star Trek Hollywood Premiere

This evening the big USA gala premiere is happening at the Chinese theater in Hollywood, California. After a month of international premieres, this is is going to the the biggest with Star Trek director JJ Abrams joined by almost the entire cast and crew. Also on hand will be past Trek luminaries and many of LA’s top celebrities. TrekMovie is there and will be liveblogging (with photos), plus there are live webcams and a local TV station is broadcasting live from the red carpet. Details below.
