The list of cancelled Star Trek video games just got longer. The German publisher Gameforge has made official what has been clear since last fall, their browser game Star Trek: Infinite Space is dead. The company is citing problems finding a partner. More details below.
Star Trek Online, the free-to-play MMO, has launched its season 6 update. Titled "Under Seige" this new update adds many new features for player fleets, including ability to build your own Starbases. And players and fleets will now have to deal with the Tholians! More details plus screenshots and a new trailer below.
Another way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation could be headed to your PC, console or mobile device, but this one needs your help. Game developer Farsight Studios is an expert in digitizing classic pinball machines and they want to bring the Star Trek: TNG table to your, but need to get financing to cover the licensing. So they have gone to Kickstarter. If you give them a hand with $10 or more, you can be the first with a copy of the game.
At the big E3 gaming show in LA this week, Paramount and Namco Bandai are showcasing the upcoming Star Trek coop game, set in the new movie universe. Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy just can’t seem to stay retired. Today it was announced the the actor is returning to the Kingdom Hearts game franchise to reprise his role of Master Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts 3D.

Star Trek Online is celebrating it’s second anniversary. As we have been reporting, the massive multiplayer game Star Trek Online is moving to a new free-to-play model on January 17th (get it….17-01). And Cryptic just announced that starting tomorrow some players who tried out the game before can get into the free-to-play STO starting tomorrow.
Earlier this year Star Trek Online hosted a contest for artists to design the next USS Enterprise for use in the game. They are now working on creating the in game model for the winning design and some new work in progress images have been released revealing the saucer separation and the auxiliary craft. On January 17th the Star Trek Online massive multiplayer game is getting a reboot by moving to a "free to play" model. In anticipation of that event, Cryptic has created a new cut-scene, which introduces the back-story of the game. The new version again uses a voice over from Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy. Star Trek is finally returning to the world of video games. This morning Paramount announced they are developing a new game for PC, Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3, based on the 2009 Star Trek movie.
