Art Directors Guild Honoring Star Trek Designers At Hollywood Event

Later this month The Art Directors Guild will be honoring the designers of the final frontier at their "Star Trek: 45: Years of Designing the Future" event in Hollywood. On hand will be veterans of Trek design including Herman Zimmerman as well as Star Trek 2009’s Scott Chambliss. They will be showing clips as well as the Director’s Edition of ST: The Motion Picture. Our friend Daren Dochterman will be moderating the panel.  



Amazon Limited Exclusive Star Trek Movie Blu-ray Set To Include USS Enterprise Replica

In November JJ Abrams new Star Trek movie comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, but there will also be additional special editions. We have already announced the Best Buy Blu-ray Gift set with badges and today it was announced Amazon will have a special limited edition Blu-ray set which comes with an Enterprise replica model. Simon & Schuster Lays Off Star Trek Book Editor – Promises No Change In Schedule

A round of layoffs this week at Simon and Schuster resulted in the departure of Star Trek books editor Margaret Clark. The move was a part of a workforce reduction by the publisher, driven by lagging profits in the publishing industry. Even though this is the second layoff of a Star Trek editor in the last year, Simon & Schuster says they are committed to Star Trek going forward. New Best Of TOS & TNG DVD Sets Announced + More TOS S2 Blu-ray Details + Paramount Joins RedBox

This Fall continues to shape up to be huge with regards to Star Trek on home video with a ton of releases already announced and Paramount and CBS just added two new ‘Best of’ DVDs (TOS & TNG). We also have revised art for the Season 2 TOS Blu-ray and some clarifying details on the HD DS9 and TAS episodes in that release. Finally we have a guide to all the upcoming Trek home video releases.

There has been a lot of news in Trek gaming since our last update. Cryptic studios has finally confirmed the date for Star Trek Online to go into beta. We had announced some box art previously, but we now have art for the whole collection, including and exclusive look at the TOS Season 2 on Blu-ray set. Star Trek Magazine #20 Excerpts: Abrams & Krige Interviews + more

Star Trek Magazine #20 is just arriving on newstands as a focus on the Borg. STM have provided TrekMovie with excerpts of their interview with the Borg Queen (Alice Krige) and an article on the history of the Borg.
