Diamond Select Toys announces this week that it has teamed up with Toys R Us stores in the United States to offer DST toys and collectibles, including the popular Star Trek line. More Details and Promotional Image For Star Trek Movie Prequel Comic

Last month TrekMovie reported that IDW will release a comic book prequel in January for the new Star Trek film from JJ Abrams. Today IDW issued an official announcement related to that book, including a promotional image and some comments from the IDW editor and Star Trek movie co-writer Roberto Orci. Review – Star Trek: The Original Series (Remastered) Season Three DVD

Season Three of Remastered Star Trek The Original Series finally gets released on DVD Tuesday November 18th. Trek’s third season was a mixed bag at best, but still contained some classic episodes, plus the Remastered process added some new moments to the cash-strapped final season. The DVD set also has some new interesting brand new special features.

More Star Trek Movie Toys Available For Pre-order [UPDATED]

While most fan attention this week is on the upcoming Star Trek movie trailer, there is big news regarding movie toys which should put collector fans into apoplexy. Today, the first pre-sale listings for Playmates mass-market 3.75” inch action figures based on the movie have shown up online, and again the toys reveal points about the film (and raise some questions).




Trek Film Library Coming Coming to Blu-Ray in 2009?

Back in April Paramount Home Entertainment announced their first titles on the Blu-ray high definition format, but to date they have not announced any titles from their Star Trek library. However friend of the site and periodic contributor Bill Hunt of the Digital Bits is now reporting that ‘sources say’ Star Trek is headed for Blu-ray in 2009.



Burger King Confirms Star Trek Movie Promotion For 2009

In a welcome sign for a new expanded audience for the franchise, Star Trek is headed back to fast food. Back in February TrekMovie reported that one of the components of the merchandising for the new Star Trek movie would be at a major fast food outlet, noting ‘probably Burger King.’ And Burger King has just officially confirmed they will be doing a promotional tie-in for the new Trek film.
