In June German browser-game producer Gameforge announced they had acquired a license to produce new free-to-play Star Trek games. Today Gameforge announced the first of those games will be titled "Star Trek – Infinite Space" which will be set around Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Back when it was introduced in January, TrekMovie and others noted the similarities of Apple’s new iPad tablet and the Star Trek PADD touchscreen devices. Now Star Trek designers Mike & Denise Okuda as well as Doug Drexler are talking about the iPad/PADD connection, excerpts below.

The man who directed the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, along with a number of other TNG and DS9 episodes passed away on Jun 27. Corey Allen, actor and Emmy-winning director, died in Hollywood of natural causes.

Star Trek vet Ronald Moore wrote sixty episodes during his tenure with the franchise, half of which were for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Moore went on to create the dark reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which he now says was born in the DS9 writers room.
It is Memorial Day Weekend and this year the summer is kicking off with Star Trek celebrities fanning out to a few cons around the world. Recently Brannon Braga, the man with the most Star Trek writing credits, inked a big TV development deal with Fox and soon signed on as showrunner for Steven Spielberg’s time-travel dinosaur series. Now comes news that the man with the 2nd most writing credits, Ron Moore, has also got a new TV deal, this time with Sony, which will hopefully result in even more new sci-fi TV. Details below.

In June Julien’s Auctions will be holding an auction of items from the estate of Gene and Majel Roddenberry, from William Shatner and from JJ Abrams & Paramount. The lots, on auction to benefit charity, will range from personal items from Roddenberry’s office, to costumes from the 2009 Star Trek movie, to William Shatner’s motorcycle.

Earlier today, UK network ITV announced that the critically-acclaimed sci-fi show Primeval will return in early 2011, and joining the cast will be Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Alexander Siddig (Dr. Julian Bashir). Siddig can also be seen in the new movie Clash of the Titans. More details below.
