Exclusive: Jonathan Frakes Talks ‘Trek Reunion’ Episode of Leverage, Type-casting & more

Jonathan Frakes started directing while still playing William Riker on Star Trek The Next Generation, going on to direct multiple Trek episodes, two TNG films, as well as many non-Trek films and TV shows. Next week TNT will air an episode of their heist show Leverage directed by Frakes and featuring guest spots for Trek actors Brent Spiner and Armin Shimerman, so we thought now would be a good time to check in with the bearded one.


TNG Headed Back To Broadcast Syndication

Star Trek The Next Generation is heading back to where it all began. Today CBS announced they have sold reruns of Next Generation for broadcast syndication in most of the country for the Fall 2009 season. Although TNG is currently in reruns on cable, it has not been available for broadcast syndication in eight years.


More Retro Star Trek Model Kits For 2009

Last Summer TrekMovie reported that Round 2 was bringing back classic Star Trek model kits, with a number of 2008 releases under the AMT and the Polar Lights brands. Today we have news of Round 2’s retro kits for 2009, including the Enterprise E, a big Enterprise A and the ‘Legendary Mr Spock’ diorama. Michael Dorn A Surprise Guest On Tonight’s Heroes + Denise Crosby Appears On Prison Break

UPDATED: Monday night December 15th was a big night for former security officers of the USS Enterprise D. Firstly, Michael Dorn is the latest Star Trek crossover to appear on the NBC comic-book drama Heroes where  Star Trek The Next Generation’s Worf was a surprise guest star. SciFi ENT & TNG Marathons + Nemesis AMC Premiere [UPDATE: Trek Trivia Quiz w/ Prize]

This week there are some happenings for Star Trek on TV. Firstly the last Trek film, Nemesis, has its network TV premiere on the AMC Network, with more showings later in the week. Plus the Sci-Fi Channel has two Trek marathons lined up for Labor Day weekend. There are also some changes ahead in the fall schedule for Trek on cable.
