Recently a small Star Trek / Star Wars “feud” erupted online between William Shatner and Carrie Fisher. Now George Takei has entered himself into the feud in an effort to calm to the situation. William Shatner to guest star on ABC’s Rookie Blue + Shatner’s version of Iron Man to be released

Although his CBS sitcom $#*! My Dad Says was canceled in May, Star Trek’s William Shatner is staying busy. Shatner will guest star on the ABC series Rookie Blue. There’s also an update on his music career, with news that his version of Black Sabbath’s "Iron Man" will be released on his October album Seeking Major Tom (Cleopatra).

Four Star Trek captains will be at San Diego Comic Con 2011 with Patrick Stewart and Scott Bakula now confirmed for separate events (in addition to the previously announced The Captains panel with William Shatner & Avery Brooks). And in the week following SDCC William Shatner is hosting outdoor screenings of The Captains in New York and LA, and he and Epix are giving out prizes for fans who show up in costume.

Today Star Trek’s original Kirk returned to his alma mater McGill University in Montreal, Canada to receive an honorary doctorate and to deliver the convocation address where he advised the new graduates to take risks and not be afraid of of making an ass" of themselves, noting it had worked for him.
