CBS knew they needed to do something to be sure the “one that started it all”, The Original Series, was ready for that future. Exclusive: Preview Image of “Where No Man Has Gone Before” From TOS Season 3 Blu-ray

2009 has been a big year for Star Trek on Blu-ray and the final release arrives in December with Star Trek Season Three. One of the big special features is an HD restoration of the unaired pilot version of "Where No Man Has Gone Before". We have an exclusive preview image from that restoration below.  


More Details On Alternative Version of ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before’ In TOS Season 3 Blu-ray Set

2009 has been the one of the best years ever for Star Trek on home video, with the next release being the the 2009 Star Trek movie on Blu-ray and DVD next week. However, the final release of the year will be Star Trek The Original Series on Blu-ray, coming December 15th. Today we have more details on the unaired version of the "Where No Man Has Gone Before" pilot, which is a key special feature of the set. 





Star Trek Season 3 Blu-Ray Coming December 15th

Today CBS and Paramount Home Video announced the last of their expected Blu-ray releases for the near future, the digitally remastered third season of Star Trek The Original Series. The final season of TOS arrives on Blu-ray December 15th. We have box art and details on the set below, plus a full breakdown of all the upcoming home video Star Trek releases.



Box Art for Star Trek Season 2 Blu-ray + Individual Star Trek Movies on Blu-ray & DVD [UPDATED]

This Fall is going to be big for Star Trek on home video. We had announced some box art previously, but we now have art for the whole collection, including and exclusive look at the TOS Season 2 on Blu-ray set. We also have art for the new ‘even numbered’ individual movies releases on Blu-ray and DVD.

This morning Paramount Home Entertainment made the official announcement for a number of expected releases, including the remastered Star Trek Season Two on Blu-ray and Next Generation Motion Picture Collection on Blu-ray and DVD. They also announced individual titles for all the ‘even numbered’ feature films on Blu-ray and DVD. We have all the details for all the releases below.  


Star Trek Season 2 Blu-Ray Coming September 22nd + More Trek Home Video Announcements At Comic Con

In April CBS & Paramount released the first season of Star Trek: The Original Series on Blu-ray with a note that Seasons 2 & 3 were ‘coming soon’. New BD Live Video Content Coming For Star Trek Season One Blu-ray Set

If you have the recently released Star Trek Season One Blu-ray set, then you actually have more content headed your way via BD Live (an optional part of Blu-ray discs that allows for extra content and interactive features to be downloaded or streamed over a high-speed Internet connection). Beginning this week CBS will be posting brand new video bonus material into the Star Trek Season One Portal, available exclusively to those with the Season One Set.

Review – Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 – Blu-ray [UPDATED]

Back in September 2006 CBS commemorated the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek by going back to the original film and digitally remastering the series for the HD era, cleaning up the images and adding new CGI special effects. Previous HD-DVD & DVD releases were available with only the new. But now thanks to the benefits of Blu-ray, fans have a choice (original or CGI), and can see Trek in 1080p.
