‘DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow’ Goes Star Trek In Next Week’s Episode

Next week the CW series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is going Star Trek in an episode is titled “The One Where We’re Trapped on TV.” The synopsis explains what is going on:

After Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) does the one thing that goes against her nature when it comes to her sisters, she tries to protect the Legends by scattering them in different television shows. Of course, in true Legends style some can’t just be blissfully ignorant and happy but figure out a way to end up messing with the system.

One of the prominently featured television shows the crew is sent into is based on Star Trek: The Original Series. These preview images give you a look at how they are going Trek.

I saw this before… It looks so Star Trek. Star Trek parodies are the best.

I don’t watch the CW that much. I have only seen Legends of Tomorrow once. Riverdale is the only CW show I actually watch.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is part of the Arrowverse. I watch The Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman to name a few.

“ I don’t watch the CW that much… Riverdale is the only CW show I actually watch… I watch The Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman to name a few.“

Faze Ninja has got to be the best troll sock puppet account on Trekmovie.com. Love the Tigerish determination to proliferate every article with inane posts. Bravo.

Yeah.. That comment was pretty contradictory. It’s kinda like saying, I don’t smoke very much. Just after I eat a meal for one…

Yeah like I said in the other recent thread Faze Ninja has great insight but his posts can be very contradictory and confusing lol. It is odd how often he does it but not a huge deal either, just hard to respond to at times.

“It seems, I have all his marbles, Jim.”

When it comes to parodies you should check “turkish Star Trek” which was made back in 1973. If you want a real bad parody you should search for “turkish Star Wars” which even used original footage in the background. It is so bad and terrible that the reviews themselfs are very funny and entertaining!!!
Edit: the worst parody of Star Wars is the Star Wars Holiday Special!

Ok, I’ll bite. How is Riverdale the only CW show you watch but you also watch three others?

‘The one where we’re trapped on TV’ is a sneaky little reference to Friends.. Every episode title started with ‘The one where/after/when/with/etc…..”

Aha! I knew I recognized that from somewhere. (I don’t even like Friends!) Bravo!

A tribute to Trek’s legacy that TOS continues to be parodied more than 50 years later. Certainly also explains the studio’s reluctance to let go of the classic Enterprise, and those original characters.

Those uniforms look better than the Discovery ones. :/

They actually do. But not the Pike versions. Those still look sharp and are the ones STD should have started with.

It’s interesting, because it seems like they redisigned the TOS uniforms for Pike’s crew rather quickly, yet I agree they are better than the normal Discovery jumpsuits.

If you look closely they really are a recolor of the standard DIS uniform, minus the metallic side decorations. They have the same ribbed shoulder gussets. I don’t know if that was a practical consideration to reuse patterns or uniforms that had been semi-finished or an artistic decision or both, but it adds structure and detail. (Not a fan of the weird half-collar though.)

I think it was a way of keeping them consistent, while still looking like the TOS uniforms. I hope they tweak them for SNW. I wasn’t in love with the tight/slim fit and overly designed nature of the DSC uni’s. The shoulder piping and weird shiny sides just weren’t necessary.

Frankly, I think the Abrams uniforms were close to perfect if you want a modern recreation of the originals.

Best Trek uni’s are still TNG era, Early DS9/Voyager a very close second. Third are the STB flight suits. Yowza! Movie unis right after that.

Everything else is “meh” at best.

I tried to get into this show when it first started, but I never got past more than a few episodes. I just couldn’t get into it. People say it gets really good later (sounds very much like Star Trek ;)). This episode does sound interesting and fun but I would probably be too lost with everything else going on.

Tiger2 I don’t watch this show that much but I might watch this episode because it is a Star Trek themed episode.

I don’t watch the CW every time is what I meant to say. On my other comment. You and a few other people criticized me for my comments, fair enough. I appreciate some criticism once in a while.

I agree with everything you said. It looks fun but I will be too lost in everything else going on. The CW shows are pretty good, people say that.

No worries man! You know I love reading your posts and your take on things as I do many others here. You’re also one of the nicest and friendliest people here to interact with. And I want to make this clear I don’t want you to think I was trying to criticize you in the other thread (or this one) and I know you meant no harm, but yes I was just honestly confused lol. But I wasn’t trying to get you upset and if I did I apologize immensely. Sometimes I just have a hard time following your train of thought, but none of us are perfect, ESPECIALLY me. I’m reminded that ALL the time at home lol.

Anyway, I’ll probably tune in to the episode and see how much it interests me. I wouldn’t mind trying to give the show another chance in general but there are so many other shows I been trying to watch too and there is just so much on now. You would think being home nearly all the time these days would be easier to watch anything you want only to realize there are too many options to focus on.

And I did watch some of the Arrowverse shows. I loved Flash mostly and watched the first few seasons of Supergirl. But I got behind and it started to feel like a chore to keep up with all of it, especially because more shows kept getting added. I said I was going to check out Batgirl when it came on and never did. But that show sounds like it’s having some major growing pains right now ;).

Ah, what a nice post. I love it when people apologize on the internet. It’s like a breath of fresh air in an otherwise desolate landscape of trolls and haters :-)

I don’t come here with the intent to hurt anyone’s feelings or make them feel bad. If I know I went too far I always try and own up to it. Especially posters who just come to give their thoughts and not fight with everybody or come to troll.

I appreciate your posts when I see them too. I see what you were trying to say.

It started off as quite a dark show that was a bit dull, but the 2nd season onwards shifted to comedy and it’s been great ever since.

The whole format of the show borrows heavily from Star Trek – a crew that travels around on a ship and goes on missions (primarily in time rather than in space). There is also an element of Doctor Who and quite a few pastiches of other sci-fi shows. Obviously there is also the underlying superhero genre.

It looks also a like they ripped off the It Crowd Star Trek episode. All in all series has a very British vibe to me.

Captain Kirk never looked so good to me before.

Spock was a handsome dude.

Woah. Nice form fitting uniforms.

WELL SAID !!!

Indeed. Indeed.

Boing

As another Legend once said. Sounds like fun!!

Holy Happy Day, Batman!! Did you hear?!

STAR TREK PIKE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watch Legends of Tomorrow since the first season. It’s basically the Star Trek of the DCU TV shows.

Not a good Show.

Not a good use of capitalization.

😂

Still not a good show

The sad thing is, these parodies and one-off tributes are usually better than the real Trek produced these days. Just saying. Black Mirror…

Is that asian dude in the background wearing a TOS version of the skant? Or are those just shorts?

I thought i might have been the only one to notice that. It’s definitely not the Micro Mini dress from the TOS or the Skant from TNG, it’s just a top with either shorts, mini skirt or skort of some sort. Either way, looking forward to this series’ tribute to TOS.

Of all the Arrowverse shows,Legends has become my favorite. It never takes itself too seriously, off the wall, right amount of humor with the occasional drama and just a great way to kill an hour once a week or so.

I initially hated the first season, but luckily stuck it out and from season 2 onwards it really went up from there.

Looking forward to this episode!!

It is easily the lightest of the Arrowverse shows by far.

Fan favorite is legend of tomorrow greatest drama funny action fantasy 📺🤪👍👍👌
