Zoe Saldana Gets Risqué In December DETAILS: Excerpts & Photos November 24, 2009

Not to be outdone by Chris Pine, JJ Abrams and the boys of Star Trek who are all over the December GQ Magazine, Zoe Saldana is featured in the December issue of Details Magazine. We have some excerpts, including some racy comments from the actress, plus DETAILS has sent us some hot hi-res photos of the new Uhura below.
Zoe Saldana likes her action
In her recent interview with TrekMovie.com, Zoe Saldana talked about how she wanted to "kick some ass" in the Star Trek sequel. In the December issue of DETAILS, Saldana talks more about her roles in Star Trek and Avatar, and how she has always been drawn to strong female roles, stating:
“I’ve become a little action whore,” Saldana says. Emphasis on action, not the other thing. “I’ve always gravitated toward the Sigourney Weavers, the fucking Linda Hamiltons, the Angelina Jolies. I just love strong women that are in tune with their bodies—that don’t just use their bodies as sex tools. I’m very dominant—feisty. I’m not a man-hater, just a very proud woman."

The feature on Saldana also quotes Star Trek director JJ Abrams, who said of Saldana:
Zoë’s definitely fiery," says Abrams, who has already signed her for the Star Trek sequel. "She has the fortitude for you to put her in control. She could really do the job—not just look good in a ridiculously short dress.

Need I point out the irony of this statement as it is tucked between two scantily clad pictures of her in a bathing suit. She should be proud of her body for sure. I mean, she is absolutely stunning. But to make a statement about not objectifying your body and then go posing half-nude in the same article is a bit ridiculous.
Look forward to seeing more of her in Star Trek XII (pun intended).
Makes me long for Nichelle back in her 40 or so glory years.

Surely, whoever wrote up this article (it’s just listed as “by TrekMovie.com staff) could have easily typed up “the f###ing Linda Hamiltons”. Most people would’ve gotten what Miss Saldana was implying.

26. Hate to say this but how would that help exactly? Kids can fill in the blanks too (I know – I did when I was younger).
Honestly, I think people are simultaneously too sensitive about profanity AND too eager to use it. I think this is an example of both to some extent.
Maybe it could have said that she said “fu-u-u-u-u-u-udge” except she didn’t really say “fudge,” but the mother of all bad words, the f dash-dash-dash word?

As much as I love Nichelle, one can’t look at her early nude pics (search google and you’ll find em) and say that Zoe is less classy… they all make mistakes starting out I guess…

No problems here with using the “F-Word” (fuck, in case you don’t know what I meant) as it’s quoting the material. Love 27s remark about 26 complaining about some 4-letter words and not others. it’s EON, baby. Everything or nothing.
As for the pix… not a bad looking girl at all, though the smarmy comments about her, captain’s logs, and such leave me with bad images of people hunched over their computers wheezing and making sure mom doesn’t come in.
And to those disappointed that she’s doing bathing suit pix, look at the industry. Doing the Maxim/FHM/GQ/whatever circuit keeps your face (and other naughty bits) fresh in between gigs. It’s not like her face will get much play for “Avatar”.
Funny enough, she’s wearing more in these shots than she did in the movie, and she did some ass wiggling to get that skirt off.

While I do enjoy the pictures, it drives me nuts when actresses claim to be against selling themselves as sex symbols and then posing skantily clad in men’s magazines. If Zoe Saldana and others want to pose, that is fine, but you can’t have it both ways. Men are driven by sex. It is just the way we are. A more logical argument would be that she is proud of her body, wants to flaunt it and does’nt care what anyone else thinks. And I understand that there are those who are offended, and all I can say is that I am sure Zoe and other actresses are comfortable with this. In other words, if no one is being exploited, then there should be no problem. No one is going to agree.

Gotta agree about the coarse language. Just because it’s “hip and edgy” to use the f-bomb all the time anymore doesn’t make it endearing. However, “—-ing Linda Hamilton” is a phrase many a fanboy has uttered over the years, maybe not just using it as an adjective as Zoe did.

Here’s what I got out of her comment, that she wants to be used as a S*x tool! All I’m saying is that if she’s gonna use words like that about other women then she wants to be that way a times; just like in the green girl sceen. (which by the way made more sense if JJ had kept the secret message thing in the movie, without that I didn’t see the point other than trying to put in a s*x sceene.
