Watch: The Cerritos Faces A New Threat In Trailer For ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Season 4, Arriving In September

Next up on the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con was our first look at the fourth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks. You can watch it below along with more details about the season and a classic teaser poster.

Lower Decks is back for Star Trek Day

The new trailer reveals season 4 will arrive on Paramount+ on September 7 — just in time for Star Trek Day. The panel at Comic-Con also revealed that the first two episodes  of season 4 will be released on September 7.

Here’s an alternate link to trailer on StarTrek.com for international readers

We also now have our first description of the season. Here is the official synopsis:

In season four of Star Trek: Lower Decks an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn’t important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers and getting stuck in a couple caves – all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.

The new trailer may feel a bit familiar for fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It has an announcer that is doing his best Ernie Anderson impression, the announcer used for early TNG episode teasers. It even pays homage to the instantly recognizable way he said “Staaarrr Trek.” Here’s a 1987 promo for TNG featuring Ernie Anderson…

Another classic movie inspired poster

Paramount+ also released a teaser poster for season 4, which features familiar faces including Badgey and T’Lin.

As we’ve come to expect, the season’s poster is fashioned after the corresponding classic Trek film. So this season being the fourth, it resembles the poster for Star Trek VI: The Voyage Home.

Y’all have fun!

“That Pike Thing We’re Not Supposed to Talk About…” :)

LOL, I loved that Pike reference. This looks like it will be another fun and crazy season. Can’t wait! :)

Ferengi! I thought I saw Rom but I could be mistaken!

Move Along Home?! this season is treating me well apparently

Dude I’m also one of the dozens of fans who always liked that episode. For LDS to go there is absolutely glorious!

Right! I can’t wait!

that was definitely Rom and Leeta.

I loved S1-S2 but S3 was imo not great the humor felt flat to me and the stories felt repetive. I hope S4 is as good as the first 2.

Season three finally had three eps that were actually decent Star Trek and not a juvenile sitcom. In my opinion it was by far the best season so far, but that’s not saying much

The way the trailer was going I was expecting to see Marge and Squidward at any moment

If they could find an organic way to bring Squidward onto Trek, I’d be there for it.

what does this even mean 😭.

Absolutely nothing, but they’re hoping we don’t notice.

LOL, it’s so childish how you both pretend you don’t get the reference. Wah! Wah! Wah :-))

The spooky ship looks like an agonizer from Mirror Mirror.

Interesting that the display said Bynar.

Such a fun show made by people who adore everything about the franchise. Looks like a blast!

OH YEAH LOWER DECKS SEASON 4 LET’S GOOOOI!!!!!

Was that the stupid talking wedding box in the Move Along Home scene? I love how the stupidest parts of Trek are able to shine on this show.

Love the fact that the posters are similar style as the movies!
I also like the nod to TNG S3E8 “The Price”
where shaxs & randsome (1:05) are doing provocative exercise in tight leotards.
Made me chuckle.🤡

It almost sounds like Frakes doing an Ernie Anderson impression.

Is there going to be a trailer breakdown for this? I kinda want to see if I got things right or not. Like with the Ferengi.

It looks like I did! I saw Leeta! I saw Leeta!

Looks like we may be visiting Voyager or some other intrepid class ship. And maybe a robot Tom Paris?

Yep! I think not only are they on the ORIGINAL Voyager people have speculated they are at the Starfleet museum (and probably why that Paris mannequin was there). Also it would make sense why the museum was referenced so much on the crossover episode if that’s where they are.

Lower Decks! Lower Decks! I can’t wait, looks like a fun season!

You’ve got to commend animation for how in this picture, Boimler’s wide eyes look slightly scared while Mariner’s look daring. How do they do that with just a few lines.

Blocked outside US as usual. Just search “Star Trek” over last week. Subspace on JoBlo and LDS on Rotten Tomato channels.
