Should be in feature film length.

Sam Kirk is really growing on me. I hope he becomes a more prominent character on the show. If there was a change to canon I’d like, it would be to spare Sam’s fate.

I would prefer for him to be a main character. If we can have two medical personnel as main characters then we can have two science personnel as main characters. They could have removed the stupid james Kirk introduction and have had a portion of that screen time for Sam instead.

One of the downsides of fewer episodes is that we don’t get to explore certain characters like Sam Kirk as much. Too bad paramount + doesn’t bring back short treks between the seasons. It would be a great avenue to go more in depth with the things SNW can’t fit into the 10 episode season.

Yes these series need more episodes. It just needs to be 3-4 more.

Back in the day there were 26 episodes in a season. Should be 13 at a minimum.

The Dude gets killed by fly fake vomit. I can’t watch that guy with laughing.

We know Pike’s grisly fate. We know Chapel just continues as a nurse. We know the rest of Uhura’s career and we know M’Benga gets demoted by the time Kirk commands. It doesn’t stop us from watching those characters, as it is all within the confines of Pike’s Enterprise.

“I hear Chapel is an M.D. now.” – she goes on to be more than a nurse, thank you very much

Ah yes I completely forgot about the existence of the Motion Picture.

Still it doesn’t happen within the confines of TOS.

I don’t think we know for sure that M’Benga gets demoted. Perhaps his time on Kirk’s Enterprise was some sort of special assignment.

Would have been hilarious if Paul Wesley (like Shatner on TOS) plays BOTH Kirk brothers on SNW, and the difference in costume/makeup is just the shirt color and a fake mustache.

Red Haired Red Shirt is Dead man Walking

I hope not….but then again…this could lead to some of his decisions down the road on whether or not to avoid his fate. I wonder if this is the catalyst for him to just do his duty when it comes time for that.

In all honesty I would really prefer he avoid it. Anson Mount has done such an incredible job with this character I’d hate to have it wasted for a very unhappy and sad result for the rest of his existence. Maybe they’ll do something where Pike just gets injured like they did in ST In to Darkness.

It’s funny I was super excited about the last season finale when we found out it connected to Balance of Terror. This one though I have he opposite feeling and I don’t really care at all. But the pictures look good and hopefully it will be great.

Every episode this season has been the greatest episode of Star Trek ever made and I expect this episode to be nothing less than the greatest episode of television ever made. The bar is certainly high, but with a writers room of William Shakespeares crafting 10 of the most perfect stories ever told, it’s one they’ll clear with room to spare!

Another insightful comment. 🙄

You definitely have the Mudd sense of humor. : D

Combat/stealth unis? Very nice.

Nothing really happened this episode, which is worrying for a finale. It was a lot of people standing or sitting around talking to one another. There was no tension despite the stakes and I found Spock’s “I am the only one that can do this” moment to be completely moronic. Surely there were plenty of people on the Enterprise who could get in an EV suit to plant the rockets on the saucer!?

In agreement with your last point. When we saw the low oxygen levels, I thought “Oh, ok only Spock has the physical stamina to operate effectively in that environment, sure.” but then we see the EV suit…

Season 3 is what…two years away? Will anyone care by then?

People wait 2-4 years between films (going on our 7th year now since Beyond sadly) I don’t think two years is a big deal between seasons.
