See Sela Return To Romulus With A Daring Plan In Preview Of ‘Star Trek: Defiant’ 2024 Annual

Tomorrow the ongoing Star Trek: Defiant series from IDW takes a detour from the “Another Piece of the Action” arc for a special annual issue focused on Sela, picking up on her following the “Day of Blood” crossover. The Defiant series is written by Chris Cantwell and art for the annual is from Ramon Rosanas. At NYCC last year Cantwell revealed how this annual would pick up on the story of Tasha Yar following the events of the classic TNG episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” The issue features Sela meeting her mother via time travel and according to Cantwell, “We are going to see some of the more painful and tragic events in both of their lives.” We have covers and a 5-page preview.

Synopsis: 

After the classified information she stole from the Klingon High Council fails to earn back her favor with Romulan intelligence, Commander Sela is forced to take drastic action and turns back the clock-literally. But what was supposed to be a surefire plan to correct her failed coup over the Klingons quickly spirals into chaos when the technology malfunctions and sends her to a devastated war-torn past with the last person Sela ever wanted to see again-her mother, Tasha Yar.

Defiant annual arrives on Wednesday

The Star Trek: Defiant 2024 annual arrives on January 24. You can order it or upcoming issues at TFAW. Or pick up individual digital editions at Amazon/comiXology.

In February the “Another Piece of the Action” arc wraps up with issue #11 which will be followed up with the new “Hell Is Only A Word” arc, starting with issue #12.

Volume 1 collection available now, Volume 2 in June
