This week IDW kicks off a new miniseries that’s all about the kids. Star Trek: The Sons of Star Trek is a 4-issue spinoff of IDW’s Star Trek: Defiant series that takes a closer look at the children of Star Trek’s heroes. The new series is being written by first-time Trek writer Morgan Hampton (Cyborg) and features art from Trek comic vet Angel Hernandez. We have a preview of the first issue, out this week.
Star Trek: Sons of Star Trek #1
Synopsis:
In the aftermath of Kahless’ harrowing Day of Blood, Jake Sisko struggles to find his place in the universe now that his family has been reunited and his father, Benjamin Sisko, has once again saved the galaxy. Meanwhile, Alexander Rozhenko is recovering mentally and emotionally from his time as one of Kahless’ devout followers. Though his father, Worf, was able to break him away from the Red Path cult, Alexander is haunted by his actions during the bloody coup and is unsure of his ability to atone for the devastation he caused. Jake and Alexander find their stories intertwined as they’re thrust into an alternate universe where they followed their father’s footsteps into Starfleet stardom. As officers aboard the U.S.S. Avery, Jake and Alexander encounter alternate versions of other children of Starfleet legends who show them they all may have a bit more in common than it would seem.

Dukat, alive and in a Starfleet uniform – that’s just wrong
Also – it’s a little odd to call it Sons of Star Trek and have Mariner in there (but I like including Mariner – that’s clever)
That’s creepy.
What I would give for that to be Weyoun instead of Dukat. Being Weyoun deprived here.
They identified this is an alternate universe tale… I think.
they did – it’s still weird
–
Is that Tuvix on the cover of issue 2? And I wonder if that’s one of Dukat’s kids as opposed to Dukat himself. We do know he had at least one son.
Dukat had a twin brother.
Was this the Alaimo-played Cardassian we saw on TNG? Macet? I seem to remember them being related in non-canon materials.
I suppose it could be Mekor – Dukat’s son
