The theme music for Star Trek is just amazing,,it really is classic sci fi music !

(always thought the drums could be abit louder thou)

:)

Having gone to both concerts in London in May, I cannot recommend them enough. Experiencing the music of these films live, surrounded by fellow fans, cannot be beaten. If you can get to one, GO! :D

Interesting that Sydney misses out – now to contemplate a visit to either Melbourne or Brisbane so I don’t miss it :)

Any chance to see this happening somewhere in Balkans?

I’m not very into orchestra music, but man if I don’t love that new opening credits theme from the nu-Trek movies. There are periods when I catch myself humming that thing the whole day. It’s a wonderful piece of music. Star Trek has had pretty good music all the way through. I think the Voyager theme is perhaps the worst of the bunch, but that’s not bad. It grew on me, especially that little part as the ship skims over the rings of that planet.

Done! I just bought my tickets for the Portland, OR show. I’ve seen movies with live music before and they are so much fun.I can’t wait!!

Thanks for making this known, Trekmovie. I learned about Trek in the Park from this site too, which was fantastic. That’s why I love this site so much!

Watching a movie while live music accompanies is reminiscent of the old days when there was an orchestra in the pit and/or a person playing a Wurlitzer organ as the movie (possibly silent) played. Apparently my great-grandmother played that organ and traveled around the US giving concerts and also playing accompaniment to films being shown (early 1900’s).

If only it could to France …

I feel like nothing like this EVER comes to Florida. Shatner came here in 2011 and I met him then, but that is it. I know this state can be wacky, but can we get a little more Trek love please.

9, Admiral,

AGREE SO MUCH.

I would travel from North Florida to Tampa/Orlando or Atlanta to see such a concert.

Alas….

iive been twitter-harassing the guys to come down to South Africa also! would LOVE to see this live!!

Maybe it was just me, but the Into Darkness soundtrack was just kinda blah, a major let down from ST09. Giaccinno is capable of great things, but Into Darkness was not one of them. A lot like Horner’s Star Trek III score. Minimum-work money-grabs, both.

Your mileage may vary.

Oh, it’s just the bad movies? I’ll pass.

Thorny, I still love the Khan piano theme that morphed into the orchestral. I’m thinking you must have liked the Nero theme with the dire-sounding chorus … creative but not my thing, even though I’m a singer.

Ode to Harrison and London Calling from into darkness are the best in my mind.
