Happy Birthday, Chris Pine

Before the day is over, TrekMovie wants to make sure we give a shout out to the new Captain Kirk and wish him a happy birthday. Chris Pine turns 29 today. In other Pine related news we have a quick update on the release of his next movie Carriers, coming out next weekend.

Happy Birthday, Chris
It may have been the hardest task in the new Star Trek movie, to play James T. Kirk and make it your own, and Chris Pine certainly delivered. Just like Chris, we can’t wait to see what he does next. Here again, is Chris as Kirk getting under the skin of Zachary Quinto’s Spock, with a little help from Simon Pegg as Scotty.

Limited Run for Carriers
As we reported before, Chris will next be seen in the horror movie Carriers opening next weekend. However, Fangoria is reported that it will have a very limited run in theaters, and will not be in the biggest cities (New York, LA or Chicago). According to Fangoria, Carriers will be playing in:

  • Atlanta, GA
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Denver, CO
  • Detroit, MI
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Pittsburgh, PA
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Portland, OR
  • St. Louis, MO

So it looks like everyone else will have to wait for video. Here is the trailer again.

Happy B-Day!

His performance was one of my favorite aspects of the new movie, even if it felt like it was in *spite* of the writing. He totally took that role to town and did it wonderfully. I can’t wait to see him in the next movie, especially if the writing is tuned much more towards the adult Kirk we all know and love.

(And hell yeah, I see a city in my state on that list. [Insert celebratory dance here] Horror is not my thing at all, but for Pine? –And a chance to see something that New Yorkers and LAers don’t have?– Call me crazy (and just a bit petty~), but I might just have to see this. :D)

Happy birthday, Mr. Pine! May it be one of many more successful years.

Happy Birthday Chris. Thank you for a wonderful performance in a great movie. I truly worried about the reboot (reimagining? whatever)…however you performance was a revelation.

I have watched many of your other performances and look forward to following your career for years to come in Trek and other venues

Happy Birthday Chris!! Thank you for your amazing performance in Star Trek (2009)! May you Live Long & Prosper.

Hey,

How old was the Shat when they shot “Where No Man has Gone Before”?

Just wondering..

Sorry – too lazy and busy to look up myself.

Happy Birthday, Jordan!

(and Chris)

Pine is…………………….

Dreamy………….

…looks like Shatner was 34 when “Where No Man…” was filmed, perhaps 35 (depending on when it was shot vs. when it was released).

>28

Thanks Dan!

Chris, Happy Birthday! I hope it’s a great one for you!

happy b-day Mr. Chris. if only Shatner seen the movie and see how you portrayed his character real well.

Happy birthday!

It’s been a great year for you Chris!

26. MC Doctor – How old was the Shat when they shot “Where No Man has Gone Before”?

Shatner was 34, if it was shot in late 1965.
But Kirk will be 32 in 2265.

Hey Chris! Happy birthday man! Live Long and Prosper

Happy Birthday to a talented young actor. Damn, he did a great job as Kirk.

Happy belated to Chris!

Neat how his mom and dad both have their birthdays in July, but he has August to himself…

And of course, his being born in August (it being named for Augustus Caesar–the original archetypical subsequent leader) is funny… if only William Shatner had been born in July! :)

#34 But Kirk will be 25 in 2258. Hope someday we find out what Pine-Kirk was doing from age 17 to age 22!! Here’s hoping it’s some sort of gropo duty in the Iowa National Guard… If only we could get something like that filmed before Pine gets too much older to do it!

Happy Birthday <3

O captain, my captain! Happy birthday
