Watch: Zachary Quinto Reveals Star Trek Into Darkness ‘Clip’ On Conan

Remember a couple of months ago when JJ Abrams went onto Conan to make the big reveal a few frames of Star Trek Into Darkness? Well not to be undone, tonight Zachary Quinto appeared on Conan and showed his own entire special ‘clip’ from the movie. And you can watch the whole thing below.

Quinto shows a ‘clip’ from Star Trek Into Darkness

Our friends at Team Coco just sent over a link to this brand new video of Zachary Quinto appearing on Conan, where he talked about taking on the role of Spock and he then one upped JJ Abrams by revealing a Star Trek Into Darkness ‘clip.’ Check it out.

Excited about all the info coming in, but can’t see this video. Hopefully really soon we will hear about more of what Hasbro has planned other than the Kreo line too.

Facinating…

Fascinating.

indeed

Video not loading for me.

Zach totally trolled us. I loved it!

# 5

Me neither… I’ll try again some other time.

I love these jokes about all the hype, especially when people get flustered and take them so seriously.

Loved it also

Don’t waste your time. I apprectiate the occasional humor, but now I’m really feeling like they are just trying to insult our intelligence here. I plan to see “The Hobbit” on opening night, but I’m not holding my breath for any real enlightening Star Trek reveal. All this secrecy crap surrounding the next Star Trek might end up back firing. Luckily I’m a big fan of the woks of J.R.R. Tolkien so I’m mainly going to see that.

Bastard lol

Works of Tolkien. I don’t think he was all that into Woks! LOL

nice.

No workie on the iPadie :(

Ah ha. Hilarious.

#1 I’m pretty sure Hasbro make products that compete with DST and Playmates, so I don’t think they can make ships or figures in the traditional sense.

That Green Blooded InHuman. It’s his revenge for all those argument’s he lost!.

10. Have you never watched Conan? The show pulls this kind of crap constantly. It’s funny because it’s lame.

I think even those of us who have reservations about the new movies, and I have many, I think even those most militant about it have to admit Quinto was a stand out as Spock. He was perfect.

Did he say something under his breath about not working with Nimoy (“Necessarily”)?

LOL! The part with Richter at the end was priceless!

@10. This is just a movie. Calm down.

love conan, was really hoping to see a real clip but any press is good press.

20 – uh, no. Quinto’s Spock was whiny and petulant, not cool like Nimoy’s Spock. The ‘I demand to know how you got on this ship’ bit was pathetic, not Spock at all. Maybe Quinto had to suffer with a poor script, and that’s why his Spock was so bad, but be that as iit may, it is what it is. Maybe ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ will be better, but the mimicking of TDK is not encouraging.

LOL! I love the fact that it was live and not recorded. Zach seems like a cool dude.

Folks, you are not getting the joke. The clip is dark because they are making fun of Trek into darkness. That is why there is no clip here, just black.

I don’t really find either JJ’s stunt or this very funny. It’s mocks us fans.

25 Agreed – a very wooden performance.

@27: there is a Conan clip

They are making fun of fans and you can’t blame them. How about we laugh with them and just look forward to the movie.

Wankers! LOL

This is doing exactly what JJ and Paramount want……….it’s been simmering amongst the fan base the whole time and now they are slowly getting into mainstream press again and it will boil soon and blow the lid off by May………He’s a pro. I’m not. I’ll trust he knows what he’s doing.

funny!!

Oh I can’t wait.
Quinto seems more seasoned now. More Spock-ish. I like it.

HAHA oh man, that was funny.

There’s always gotta be one or two fans who can’t lighten up and enjoy all this, I feel sorry for those fans.

@27
I know what you mean about the mocking the Trek fans thing. I also squirm a bit when actors go on talk shows. It’s as if they feel obliged to be a parody.

I wish someone would tell them: “It’s OK to just be normal and have respect for your work. You are on the show for your fans, the people who buy the tickets and the blu rays. Just go there and tell them how you did your work, if you liked it, and what the fans can expect. That’s it, don’t have to make a joke out of everything Star Trek.”

That being said, the interview was still appreciated.

You know what would have made that Conan interview unique?
If Quinto actually played a short role with Conan in front of that green screen, and if he acted in character. Showcased his acting talent.

Now that would be impressive. And quite frankly things like that would strengthen the franchise. And you know Conan would just LOVE to do it.

Not everything has to be a parody.

There have only been two movies, four years apart, and already a kind of malaise has set in. The only “news” we’ve gotten has been these silly spoofs which are really aimed at the fans. This kind of tomfoolery I could understand AFTER the movie has come out, but before? Really?
If Bad Robot really had a spectacular product like “2001” they would be really stoked over of the material. Even if they had a product that was on the level of a good James bond movie, I think there would be a certain excitement. But I’m not getting that vibe. What I’m getting is a certain bored loxiness, as if promoting this thing is such a chore. From the beginning, I’ve gotten the feeling that “Star Trek” has been a burden and a somewhat silly and embarrassing burden at that.
The time to promote this movie was last August at ComicCon. But I guess the strategy is to move on from the traditional fan base and embrace the wider world of people who just want to have a good time at the movies. And for that level of product, I guess loxiness is OK.

Silly, but amusing.

“Oh gawd, we’re being mocked and being made fun of! It’s like middle school all over again!”

Get a life, people. Learn to take a freaking joke and laugh at yourselves. Don’t you realize that’s why people keep making fun of Trekkies? Because it’s EASY to get some of you in a tissy?

@41
I sense the fans tolerate the parody antics of some actors; they would prefer it not be there. Absolutely legitimate concern.

At the end of the day, the paying customer is what matters. If the fans don’t want to be repeatedly mocked under the threat of being accused of “not being able to take a joke”, then Paramount should just tell its actors to protect the integrity of their franchise.

If I owned the Trek franchise, the phone calls would already have gone out to the stars to show respect for the customers else just stay off the talk show circuit (or don’t bring up franchise material).

Anyway, all that said the Quinto interview was appreciated; but I do see why some fans are annoyed with the constant parody jabbing in the ribs.

Oh come on with this trolling crap. Is it confirmed that a 9 minute preview will be before The Hobbit in IMAX, or IMAX 3D? Or both. Will it be a troll preview, or an actual friggan’ preview.

There are aliens and they will explode!

Why, you green-blooded, inhuman…

I’m not amused by the same joke. Fool me once shame on you/ fool me twice bit. I really wish they would do more of a viral campaign that has something more contemplative is all I’m saying. Maybe if the villain was like Loki in the Avengers impish pranks would be more in line. Maybe Cumberpatch is Q!

But the paying customers outnumber the fans by a huge, huge margin. They take priority.

So people can stop complaining about secrecy.

Listen to it, JJ explains why he does it, I love it, and if he’s directing this is what you can expect.

43 Where have you been? Yes, the first 9 minutes of Trek is infront of Hobbit Imax 3D only. Another trailer will be released wide at this time for other films.

Will that trailer run ONLY on December 14, or in front of Hobbit IMAX 3D for its run?
