“Spock Amok,” episode five of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, debuts on Thursday, and we’ve got a new clip from it.
Number One Fun
“Spock Amok” has a lighter tone than previous episodes, as can be seen in the synopsis:
It’s a comedy of manners when Spock has a personal visit in the middle of Spock and Captain Pike’s crucial negotiations with an unusual alien species.
Now check out a clip featuring Number One (Rebecca Romijn) and La’an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong) showing that they can have a bit of fun, too (via Nerdist).
“Spock Amok” debuts on Paramount+ on Thursday, June 2.
Previously released clip:
The latest episode of The Ready Room includes a clip of Spock and an ancient Vulcan ritual [at 25:59]. [Also available internationally at startrek.com.]
New episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds debut on Thursdays exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Latin America, Australia and the Nordics. The series airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave in Canada. In New Zealand, it is available on TVNZ, and in India on Voot Select. Strange New Worlds will arrive via Paramount+ in select countries in Europe when the service launches later this year, starting with the UK and Ireland in June.

Now you know why it’s so easy to steal a starship….
Don’t shoot! We’re crew!
Oh, okay. As you were (lowering weapons)….
Well, Ensign Christina is a Comms officer on the bridge at least.
I’m liking how even the background characters in the supporting, after the credits, cast are getting some lively moments.
Yay a shore leave episode!! We haven’t gotten a single one of those in live action Star Trek since Enterprise. THIS is why people is loving this show! It’s bringing back all the classics! :)
Yeah! Including how easy it is to circumvent security, apparently…..
And a Bolian!
There’s always fun to be found when Bolians are aboard.
Shore leave, and horny Vulcans!! What could possibly go wrong?
LOL, can’t wait to find out! ;)
And I think in honor of it being a shore leave episode, I’m re-watching Shore Leave tonight!
This conversation felt like a live action (and toned down for realism) version of a conversation we’d hear on Lower Decks. (That’s a compliment.)
I didn’t think about that until you said it, but you’re so right! This could almost be Mariner and her mother talking together; just with less snark or yelling. ;)
And toned down in speed :-)
I’ve just watched this episode in the UK and enjoyed it
