Looking good!!! Bridge looks great, actors/actresses look fantastic!
Glad they are injecting some color into the information displays (though really, not sure why you wouldn’t want to go multi-colored TOS style as with the same bridge set in Discovery)! Don’t like the side TNG style black on Pelia’s uniform though, doesn’t look as sharp as the other uniforms.
Way brighter and less gloomy than Pic S3 too. But beware the door / hard drive syndrome that seems to permeate new Trek, doors and hard drive lights are not that exciting vs. dynamic displays, equipment, etc.

Those side panels are on the yellow ones we see number one wear in season 1 and uhura wore red ones also with the black panel on the sides those are the skant dress and leggings uniform variants to the standard shirt and pant uniforms to give the Starfleet crews uniform options the skant dress and leggings variant uniforms replaced the unform jacket and skirt and leggings that we saw the enterprise crew have in dsc season 2

its Likely to me that the side panels on Pelia’s uniform have a slimming effect on the beautiful Ms. . Kane.

Glad to see the TNGish black panel uniforms dying out, they kill the retro feel that they have otherwise nailed.

Interesting pictures but i dislike the lighting. I wish someone would of turned on the lights but than maybe someone blew up all the light-bulbs and the new ones aren’t arriving till Tuesday.

That lighting for these pics is ment to mimic the lighting on the tos sets
If you watched season 1 of snw you will see it is very nicely lit but goes dim on the bridge with emergency lighting and red flashing lights when the ship goes to red alert

You left space dock without GU10 bulbs???

Excited for SNW but these publicity photos are serving up all sorts of awkward stiffness. Also, those Paul Wesley photos remind me how much I wish SNW saved Kirk for the last minute, of the last episode, of the last season. Wesley’s performance needs to click hard this season to justify bringing him on the show as an asset rather than a distraction.

The way he played Kirk in the season 1 finale was different cause it was a alternate future timeline were he was not the captain of the enterprise had not meet Spock till then and so was different and he will be a bit more like shatner kirk in season 2 minus the hammy annoying over dramatic line delivery that shatner gave but he is still a lt in season 2 not a captain a few years after him saving most of the crew of the Farragut in 2257 we still don’t know if it is 2259 or 2260 this season but he might be a full commander before the season is over also they did say they plan on bringing in Scotty and McCoy and sulu as recurring characters as the series progresses so maybe by the end of the series we will have the full season 1 tos crew on the enterprise and we will get some new tos episodes with Kirk and crew on the enterprise set between the other episodes

Yes. Still hoping Wesley’s performance clicks for everyone this season.

I’m willing to keep an open mind. Some of the reviews are more positive about his performance in this season, so I hope he grows into the role as Peck did with Spock.

Fans never fail to criticize the silliest things.

These are publicity photos. This is what publicity shoots should look like. Every trek has done them: mood lighting, casts standing at stiff attention. Group portraits.

I’d actually say these are some of the best Trek publicity photos ever.

Appreciate your subjective thoughts, but I’m still not loving them. The show has great style and a tone that’s uniquely their own, but the photos feature awkward and contrived poses with oodles of bombastic side eye. They aren’t capturing the show’s energy (for me).

Publicity shots are very often stiffed. They’re staged and static, so stiffness is inherent. It’s the nature of the beast.

Publicity photos don’t have to look stiff. Publicity photos can be natural and candid. It’s all about the art direction.

Can’t wait!

Me neither.

Kind of here for the Enterprise becoming a neon-drenched gay bar LOL

Really??

I’m down.

Enterprise + Gay Bar = Best. Idea. Ever. :)

Sounds like a lot more fun than a dimly-lit hole where people even consume their meals and booze in the dark.

I have to admit Wesley looks more Kirk-like in these shots.

Ethan Peck fills out that uniform, as well.

I loved Peck from the beginning. Wesley I wasn’t sure about, but he has a Kirkiness to him in these photos.

Literally. Those pecs are sorely testing the tensile strength of that fabric.

Looks like we might actually spend a little time in Engineering this season….

One of these series it would be interesting to see what a starship machine shop looks like. Replicators do have limitations….

I’m not sure why engineering isn’t viewed as one of the main sets for action in the new live action shows.

SNW is the first of the shows to even bother having a Chief Engineer.

The new trek fashionable colors have changed slightly. Still lots of cyan….but not COMPLETELY ALL CYAN all the time.

The first season was great so I’m looking forward to season two. My only quibbles were tiny, like tribbles. I thought Ortegas was a bit dull, the fact that M’Benga has the wrong accent and is so mumbly threw me off, and the Gorn were not done well. But other than those three things I thought the season hit it out of the park. I still like M’Benga a lot even though it’s hard for me to see him as the TOS version since he speaks so differently. I’ll get used to the GOrn because I’ll just view them as another Gorn species. And Ortegas might grow on me. My only big concern for season two is Pelia. Carol Kane is great but I’ve found myself rolling my eyes at her scenes in the trailer. Still I’ve got high hopes and will wait to judge her until I see her.

Let’s say that the TOS M’Benga had the wrong accent when he sounded American.

You’re not seriously complaining that an actor from Africa has the incorrect accent when playing an African character?

I only give Uhura a pass on her very American accent because she’s been retconned to being a linguistic prodigy, and can reasonably be expected to speak English in whatever accent she’s surrounded by.

“You’re not seriously complaining that an actor from Africa has the incorrect accent when playing an African character?”

That’s not even remotely what I said, no. His name aside, TOS never said M’Benga was an African character. The character had the original actor’s accent, so that was M’Benga’s accent. The current one is wrong NOT because the actor is from Africa but because he speaks differently than the original actor yet is supposed to be the same guy.

These look fresh but have so much of a 1960s cool photo vibe.

I can see Twiggy walking right into the scenes and looking totally in place. ;)

I love the color in those photos. That’s one thing I found beautiful in TOS. Really gave it a 60s vibe, understandably. I hope that color palette isn’t only for the publicity pics and we’ll actually get to see it in the episodes. The clinical white in S1 was pretty but a bit more color wouldn’t hurt.

Agree with nearly everyone, its looks great. Nice TOS vibe!

This show hit a huge home run for me last season. Not perfect but generally a great season…I suspect they are about to do it again.

It’s a great time to be a fan! :)

great to finally get season 2 but.. these pictures are nord very good, character portraits in Trek used to be much better..

Dropping a line to note that the special Ready Room preview finally went up in a region-free version on the main StarTrek.com official site in the early hours of Tuesday.

It’s almost impossible to find within the site (it came up in a browser search for new information on the show, not by looking within the site itself).

Here’s the link for any who are outside North America and are looking for something ahead of the international drop tomorrow: https://ca.startrek.com/videos/strange-new-worlds-season-2-premiere-special

Thank you TG47. And yes, I can never find anything on the StarTrek.com site. I never go there, it’s a mess.

I wish I could give M’Benga a throat lozenge so he could clear his throat. Maybe then I’d have a clue what he’s saying without having to put the subtitles on. Good actor, but the most mumbly speaker I’ve ever seen.

So I’m not the only one to do that then… His accent also doesn’t help. I remember I had the same problem with that Discovery Klingon-turned-human abomination guy, what ever his name was.

Thank you for stating that. M’Benga’s eyes always tell me the gist of what he’s saying, but yeah, I have a hard time understanding him. His voice is just so deep!
