Baited breath is most likely a result of eating too much raw fishing bait. You mean *bated* breath. :P

Either way, it’s a shame I threw away that wooden phaser I made as a kid back in the 80s. It was hand-carved, painted shiny black and silver, with a slice of transparent tubing used as a barrel. I used to watch Trek on foreign TV back then, but it was impossible to find any official licensed Trek collectibles in any toy store here in the Soviet bloc, so I resorted to making my own. ;) Good luck to all the contestants!

Paul,

I’ve consumed plenty of sashimi in my time; so I’ve probably experienced that and likely while waiting for things with bated breath too.

Ha! You got me. I feel like I should leave it.

If I win this time I hope I actually get the disc. I won one of the copies of the Star Trek Compendium but never got it.

Figures, I just broke down and ordered it, because I heard it came with a free BEYOND ticket. It just arrived and no BEYOND ticket. On the plus side, it looks utterly fantastic. I am seriously impressed with image quality from 3 minutes of skipping around.

Amazon botched my pre-order, so I re-ordered it again today. Benefit is a price drop to $14.99.

Amazon price matches automatically, so I pre-ordered and paid 22.something plus tax but had an 8.50 credit to my charge card by the end of the day.

Trekmovie is actually giving away 3 copies, but through a screenplay error, it seems as if there are only 2 copies. Adding to this, fandom never bothered to check on the DVD progress.

Prodigal Son,

Is this your way of say that a branching glitch in this contest’s winner picking software will result in two Sulus and someone else winning?

Are the foreigners eligible?

There’s a mistake on the Blu-Ray that’s probably going to be recalled and fixed. Visit http://www.thedigitalbits.com for details.

Sam,

While I, personally, wouldn’t open my wallet to pay full retail for a flawed product, I’m not entirely sure what you meant to insinuate about this contest’s prize? However, I would point out:

One, beggars can’t be choosers.

Two, recalled flawed things often become tomorrow’s rare collectibles so even if that is the version being awarded here, it still, as such, could be a prize of some worth in the near future.

Disinvited.

I do not mean to “insinuate” anything, only to inform. I did not cancel my own order, nor the copy I ordered for a friend. And posting my ST collectibles on Facebook to win a prize is not something I would do anyway. Regardless of where you got your copy from, Paramount will exchange it. Once they have a recall program in place. Of course that’s kind of predicated on knowing enough to keep your eyes and ears open for the eventual announcement. So…

Sam,

I’m still not clear why you felt compelled to post this information here rather than:

https://trekmovie.com/2016/06/05/twok-dc-bd-review/

I know you say you aren’t trying to insinuate anything, but your posting the info here in a contest chain comes off as if you are trying to say that you have inside information that the prize that will be awarded will be flawed. I’m just trying to figure out what your post is meant to inform about the contest and your source of information in those regards?

Disinvited.

I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere on this site. I felt it worth mentioning. Any article related to the STII blu-ray would have done. Preferably the most recent one where people might actually still be looking. I was not insinuating anything about the contest. The disc itself arguably IS flawed and I posted my source. I don’t care to discourage anyone from participating in the contest, let alone from buying the blu-ray (on the contrary, it needs to sell copies if there’s any chance they give the other films similar treatment). I’m not convinced this was inappropriate.

You’re fine. Our new theme has a flaw in that older posts fall off the front page, and then there’s currently no link to older posts. So unfortunately the TWOK DC review fell off this weekend.
We’re working to fix the issue with older news.
