See Alexander, Nog, And Jake Deal With Q Jr’s Time Loop Shenanigans In ‘Sons Of Star Trek’ #2 Preview

This week IDW continues its new miniseries all about the kids. Sons of Star Trek is a 4-issue spinoff of IDW’s Star Trek: Defiant series that takes a closer look at the children of Star Trek’s heroes. The new series is being written by first-time Trek writer Morgan Hampton (Cyborg) and features art from Trek comic vet Angel Hernandez. We have a preview of the second issue, out this week.

Star Trek: Sons of Star Trek #2

Jake, Nog, and Alexander find themselves stuck in a never-ending loop of being blown to smithereens aboard the U.S.S. Avery and then revived by Q Jr.-who insists he’s helping them learn some lesson unbeknownst to them. Amid the attack from the Breen, the Avery crew and their strong-willed, bureaucratic captain, Skrain Dukat, refuse to listen to the trio’s musings about an alternate universe. Left with no other choice, they are forced to begrudgingly work together and attempt to step into their Starfleet roles in hopes of helping the Federation ship survive the attack and return home… or be stuck in this alternate reality forever!

This one looks actually interesting.

I might pick this one up myself.

so, recycling the TNG episode “Cause and Effect”….

Time loops have been done a few times now. At least they seem to be keeping their memories after each loop.

Do we know who the Cardassian dude is yet?

Can’t say as I’m a fan of that, but I suppose if (in the funny books) the Prophets can resurrect Sisko from his fall into the fire caves, the Pah’wraiths can do the same with Dukat…

It’s a Q story.

That looks like Tuvix on one of the pages.

It is!

Nice to see the fanon Insignia Class making an appearance.
