Titled The Illyrian Enigma, the new four-issue miniseries is set after the events of the season one finale and before the upcoming second season. Interesting. So I guess there is a chance Una will be back on board when season 2 kicks off??

I mean… did you really think differently? I thought it was pretty clear she’d be back. That was just a cliffhanger.

I knew she would be back, just maybe not in EP 1

It’s a great time to be a fan of Trek comics. IDW is putting out a lot of cool stuff.

Yeah definitely. After all those tired redundant mirrorverse stories this is a big improvement.

Really loving the SNW Enterprise in comic book form, will check this out!

Lower Decks Pike spotted on cover C!

I noticed that too. I wonder if that means the S2 crossover ep will also have animated elements to it.

I think that’s it’s been confirmed that it will do.

ahhh ok cool.

Strange idea. You would think that this story is for the beginning of season 2.

I was thinking the same. But with only 10 eps in the season maybe they wanted to wrap this up before the season starts.

I figure the season two premiere will still resolve it effectively on its own, its just that this miniseries will provide some optional stepping stones along the way for the diehards.

I’d be totally cool with that. Seems kinda obv whatever mission April is sending Pike on has to do with rescuing Una.

Pike’s argument proves how… kind of vacuous this entire defense is? “Any ‘deception’ was only because of Starfleet’s own misguided regulations.”

Well… no. The deception was willful and intentional. Disagreeing with the rules governing a group that can be voluntarily joined doesn’t not mean that it isn’t still an intentional lie to join it under false pretenses. No one forced her to do so.

Now, whether the rules SHOULD have been there is certainly a valid argument. But Una *is* guilty of intentionally and knowingly deceiving Starfleet and willfully violating regulations. Even if those regulations are wrong, that doesn’t change the fact that she knowingly lied, and worked to cover that lie. It would nice if they stopped trying to pretend she didn’t actually do that, and instead focused on ‘but here’s why we’re arguing she shouldn’t be punished for it, because the laws need to change.’ Because the argument ‘she only lied because we made her by being wrong’ is… Pakled-level thinking. :-)

I would think that Una’s commitment to Starfleet is similar to what many underage boys did when they lied about their age to get into the army during WW2.

Is this considered Star Trek canon then?

I can’t wait for the graphic novel version to come out so I can read it all in one go
I also can’t wait for the picard stargazer graphic novel to come out for the same reason
I do not do buy or read individual issue comics
