Tom Paris!!

My thoughts exactly.

Tom Paris!!! Why are they showing us a good episode surprise!?

But why is he in a talking plate?

Budget cuts

Because it’s a hallucination. It’s a joke based on those Star Trek commemorative plates. Boimler obviously found one somewhere and is going a little nuts for some reason.

That Tom Paris scene put a HUGE smile on my face!

Also confirmed Jeffery Combs is playing the evil AI computer in that scene! Great to have him back in the Trek fold!

I can not wait for this show to return. Best Star Trek show for me since Voyager ended! Is it August yet??

Since Robert MacNeill has been having difficulties lining up schedules for the live-action series, it’s great that they found a way to include him in LDS.

Given that Resident Alien is in production now in British Columbia and he’s an EP, perhaps they’ll be able to make it work for him to direct an episode or two of Discovery or SNW in Toronto in the winter.

Yeah the great thing about animation. I imagine it’s a lot easier for all of them even if they are still busy. I still hope they find a way to get Paris on Picard though!

Just the most fun spin-off they’ve done. Can’t help but smile.

Haven’t floated over to P+ in a while. Maybe this weekend…

Looks like fun! And new Tamarian pearls of wisdom to quote on the horizon??!

This trailer is packed with TNG references, can’t wait for the new season!

Love this show. Can’t wait.

I wonder if Quark’s Bar is a franchise or a chain?

Whichever ones makes more latinum. ;D

There was a Quark’s Bar on Free Cloud in Picard.

Boimler screaming – HILARIOUS!!

Can’t wait.

That is about as good as the show gets. A clever moment. Forced to admit, the cutting in and out scream with the shaky transporter did produce a bit of a smile. But hilarious is a rather large exaggeration.

“Strange Energies”? I wish they would do an episode titled “Keeping Up with the Cardassians”

Do Cardassians pay in Cardano or is that a currency for the Jem Ada?

I loved the first season and this looks like more of the same. Can’t wait!

Bryant when even YOU love the entire season of any of the new shows I know they did something right! ;)

lol

I’ve been hard on current Trek(s), it’s true. (And I’ve got major beef with Deep Space Nine, as well, I should say.) But everything about Lower Decks hits me the right way; I mean, yeah, sure, maybe a few of the jokes fail to land once in a while, and the more fan-servicey type references could be pruned back. But even those, I understand where they’re coming from, and feel like they’re well-intended.

Compared to what we’ve gotten on some of the other news shows, it’s night and day, at least for me.

If someone asked me a year ago out of the three new shows, which one would be my LEAST favorite I would’ve thought it was Lower Decks. Now, it’s easily my favorite out of the three lol. I never would’ve thought it. In fact since Discovery is now in the far future I thought maybe that would be my favorite, especially since it’s correcting a lot of its mistakes (I KNOW you disagree with that though lol). And yeah, it’s still Discovery no matter how hard they try.

But LDS just feels the most like classic Star Trek to me. And I think the episodic nature REALLY works for it. It’s never really discussed much with LDS, but that seems to be holding DIS and PIC back a lot because these writers can’t seem to stick to landing with their larger than life story lines.

But with LDS, its not building up to some ridiculous convoluted grand finale (or saving the galaxy…again ;)). That alone just makes it a little easier to watch for many who do like it. Which is why so many of us are excited for SNW with the hope it continues in that vein. Fingers crossed.

And I remember your beef with DS9. It’s my FAVORITE show by far (in fact watching an episode of it right now ;)) but we all have our preferences! You gave it a chance, it’s just not your thing (and no it’s not perfect either). All you can ask for. Same with the new stuff.

It’s funny that you say that. Three years ago Lower Decks was the one I was MOST looking forward to. It would seem to have the best chance of withstanding the badness of the writers and producers of the other Secret Hideout fare. Perhaps I will get something similar like you had with Lower Decks with Prodigy. I thought it was going to be complete garbage but with what I’m now hearing and seeing my opinion on it has softened. But it’s hard to shake the fact that Secret Hideout could still easily screw it up.

Dude I hope you find at least one of these new shows to like lol. Even Bryant found this one he liked. Maybe Prodigy will be better for you? Maaaaaybe. ;)

For some of us, more of the same was not a good thing. Some of us were hoping they would add some comedy to their comedy show and cut back on the easter eggs some. Sadly it does not look like they have improved.

Reminds me of the trailer for the first season. Still potential but the final product was… Lacking.

Knowing what I know of season one I am now doubting this upcoming season. And I really hope Keyshon will not be a regular. That is a one beat gag that will obviously get really old really fast.

LOWER DECKS! LOWER DECKS! LOWER DECKS! What a fun trailer! I laughed out loudly! I am really looking forward to the new episodes!:-) :-) :-)

I only just now noticed those captions – Missi Pyle! Vanessa Marshall! Randall Park! And more!

This is going to be fun.
