The folks over at FanSets the collectable pin company that focuses on genre fandom shared with us the details of their planned exclusive pins for the big Star Trek Las Vegas (STLV) convention coming up in a few weeks. Many of these pins will be first available at STLV as limited runs, and if they sell out during the convention they won’t be made available to buy online.
Deep Space Nine 25th Anniversary Celebration
To celebrate the Las Vegas setting and the 25th anniversary of DS9, FanSets is making a poker chip style pin with Captain Sisko in his tuxedo from the episode “Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang.” It will be on sale during the convention for $15
The 2018 Deep Space Nine 25th Anniversary cast set is a 9-pin, framed piece which will be limited to 176 sets, the same number of episodes in the television series. It will sell for $225.
Shatner Autograph Pin
FanSets will be kicking off their “Autograph Pin” line at STLV with a Captain Kirk pin hand-signed by William Shatner. Other pins signed by Star Trek personalities are planned for the future.
This 2″x4″ pin is numbered and limited to 100 pieces total. 16 pieces will be made available for each day of the convention. This very special pin will cost $150.
The Original Series on TV in Black & White
FanSets is making a black-and-white variant of their Original Series TV set pin (limited to only 100 pieces), to celebrate the fact that many fans first watched TOS on black-and-white television sets. The pin will go for $20.
FanSets and Trek Geeks party and pin
FanSets will be hosting their second annual STLV convention party with the Trek Geeks podcast team on Friday, August 3 at The Otheroom bar inside the The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace.
The party will run from 8PM – 11PM without cover charge, but all attendees must have an STLV wristband to gain entry. All party goers will receive a free gift “FanGeeks” party pin (pictured below). FanSets will also be doing various giveaways during the evening — including framed Star Trek pin sets, autographed Trek artwork from John Eaves, and signed books by Trek author Dayton Ward.
Launch of new pins for wide release
Vegas will also see the launch of four new generally available pins (not convention exclusive). They’ll be available at STLV first, and then made available online at the FanSets web store. The new assortment includes an LLAP on a Spock hand pin, an IDIC pin, an Odo mid-transition into his bucket, and a Discovery themed “We Are Starfleet” pin. Prices range from $5.95 to $9.95.
Also making its debut at STLV is a background/set holder for the Star Trek: Discovery pins. For pin collectors who already have the Star Trek: Discovery pins, this large Discovery backing card will be available for purchase: framed for $40.00, or loose for $22.00.
The Star Trek Las Vegas convention is being held this year between Wednesday, August 1st and Sunday, August 5th at the Rio All-Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

My fav pin is the UFP emblem, because I can wear it anywhere and only other Trekkies recognize it.
The Seven of Nine pin looks like she’s been binging on Haagen-Dazs.
Nana Visitor is stunning woman. How they make Nana look uglier than Quark is beyond me… but I’m a DS9 super fan… so TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!!!

Those silly gooses put William Shatner’s stand-in on the Captain Kirk pin!
