Destination Star Trek Germany Moved To 2022, London Event Re-Confirmed For November 2021

The world of in-person conventions has not returned yet, but there are signs they are coming back—just not soon enough for the next big Star Trek convention in Germany. However, Destination Star Trek London looks ready to go and there are more Star Trek events coming in 2021 and 2022.

Destination Germany moved to September 2022

Last August, Massive Events, which runs the official Star Trek conventions in Europe, announced their planned October 2020 Destination Star Trek event in Dortmund Germany has been postponed to June 25th, 2021. However, they have now announced that “due to the ongoing COVID19 situation and the corresponding ban on events,” the 2021 convention will not be happening. A new date has been set for September 23-25. Tickets that have already been purchased are still valid for the new date. Those who cannot make the date can get a voucher or refund, with details at destinationstartrekgermany.com.

Destination London re-confirmed for November 2021

Last September, Massive moved their planned October 2020 Destination Star Trek London event to November 12-14 2021. They’ve re-confirmed they are “All set for November!” According to the statement, they feel confident in the fall date due to “positive news from the vaccine rollout and very low level of daily Covid infections.”

The 2021 event promises to offer fans the planned 2020 25th anniversary Star Trek: Voyager reunion along with many more major Star Trek stars. To announce the news, they released a video featuring Voyager’s Bob Picardo…

Creation’s August 2021 Vegas Con signs up over 100 guests

Last year Creation Entertainment had to cancel their last officially licensed Star Trek Las Vegas convention; however, they announced the 55-Year Mission Las Vegas con, for August 11-15 2021. All signs still point to this event being a go for this summer. Creation has been busy signing up celebrity guests with the current tally at 109. The latest additions include Roxann Dawson, George Takei, Jeri Taylor, and Nichelle Nichols. Other big celebs include William Shatner as well as Kelsey Grammer (in his very first convention appearance), along with more stars and creatives from TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise.

Even though Creation no longer holds an official Star Trek license, they have lined up many celebs from the new Paramount+ shows including most of the main and supporting cast from Star Trek: Discovery including Sonequa Martin-Green, Strange New Worlds’ Rebecca Romijn and Picard stars Isa Briones, Michelle Hurd, and Evan Evagora.

New York and San Diego (In-Person) Comic Cons this fall

Two major conventions that often include both official and unofficial Star Trek panels have announced plans for late 2021. ReedPop’s New York Comic-Con will be at the Javits Center from October 7-10, but at reduced capacity. This summer’s San Diego Comic-Con will be run remotely with another Comic-Con@Home online event on July 23-25, 2021. Comic-Con International also announced a “smaller, supplemental event” called Comic-Con Special Edition taking place in San Diego on November 26-28, 2021.
