Last night Star Trek’s ‘Kirk Classic’ was in Ottawa to host the 31st Annual Genie Awards, Canada’s answer to The Oscars. The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Award were held tonight in Los Angeles. Amongst the nominees were several Trek vets, including Star Trek 2009’s Damon Lindelof and Michael Giacchino, as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Patrick Stewart. The theatrical release of JJ Abrams 2009 Star Trek movie did well with the critics and now the home video release has followed suit, winning the top title at the DVD Critics Awards. There is also news that Star Trek may be available soon for Netflix HD streaming.
