Podcast: All Access Is All In For “Time Amok” From ‘Prodigy’ And Star Trek’s Big TV Future

All Access Star Trek podcast episode 75 - TrekMovie

[Prodigy review starts at 28:07]

Tony and Laurie start with all the recently announced premiere dates, renewals, and episode counts for Star Trek: Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks, and speculate on what the next series to be created might be. They discuss Discovery‘s recent GLAAD Award nomination, John de Lancie’s latest updates on Q’s role and personality in season 2 of Picard, the success (and sheer entertainment value) of the TrekTalks online fundraiser, the new Q figure from Exo-6, the new toys coming our way from Playmates, and the arrival of a new episode of The Shuttle Pod.

Then they review “Time Amok,” the latest episode of Star Trek: Prodigy, and how it won their hearts and raised a lot of fascinating questions. They wrap up with a video of the many, many mentions of the number 47 in ’90s-era Trek (although it’s in this week’s Prodigy episode too) and a Trek fan on Twitter who’s watching every episode in the entire franchise alphabetically by episode.

Another great podcast this week. Thanks everyone.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks both for the extensive update. Great listen as always. As Tony put so well when he said “we (Paramount) love Star Trek”, I feel as though we have entered a new age (or renaissance) for the franchise. So much going on it’s hard to keep track of all the news but you both manage it in style every week. Thanks again.

Thanks Scott! Love that you are a regular listener and like what we’re doing. I don’t think any of us ever imagined a time with five Star Trek series in production at the same time!

Laurie,

I’m glad you are watching Fringe. It’s an underrated sci Fi series. When I heard John Noble joined the Prodigy cast, I was super excited. As you watch the series, could you add a tidbit on the podcast on what you think, just a few words. I know it’s a Trek podcast but I would love to hear a thought or two on whether or not you like it or what you think of Noble’s character.

All the Best,
Kevin

I am loving all the Fringe actors and especially John Noble. Was just talking about him last night. Really looking forward to Leonard Nimoy showing up!
