More Details On Alternate Reality Collective DVD Set + TOSR Season One Price Drop

CBS Paramount has just released the final details on the September 16 release of the Star Trek: Alternate Realities DVD Fan Collective. We have a full list of the special features, more packing art and news on the special promotional figure giveaway. Plus the Season One of the Remastered Trek has dropped in price to fall in line with Seasons Two and Three.

The Collective: The Return Of The Mego Playset + Pic of DST Captain’s Chair

Starting in 2007, Diamond Select Toys and EMCE Toys, Inc. have been producing retro versions of the MEGO Star Trek action figures and they just announced that the USS Enterprise Action Playset, one of the most beloved and remembered Star Trek toys of all time, will join the line. More details below, plus other DST news, including a picture of the new life-sized captain’s chair.



TrekInk: Review Star Trek Manga Volume 3

Tokyopop has released its third Star Trek manga comic book collection this month, and it includes solid comic narratives and perhaps one of the very best Star Trek panel stories of all time. Titled Uchu (which translates to "Universe"), the volume includes four stories set in the original five year mission, including tales from Wil Wheaton and David Gerrold.


The Collective: Vegas Edition

The official Star Trek convention in Las Vegas was more than celebrities, autographs, pictures, and drinking at Quark’s. CBS Products and some of the Trek licensees used the con to announce and show off some of the upcoming Star Trek products, including some from Mattel, Diamond Select and Master Replicas. Last Chance For Personalized Videotaped Shatner Signing

Way back in January TrekMovie reported that William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk, had hooked up with LiveAutographs.com, who offer personalized videotaped memorabilia signings. The event had sold out (twice) and they have now expanded it to allow for more signings, but the deadline to sign up for your autographed item and personalized taped message from Shatner is midnight Tuesday (Pacific).


Watch ‘Star Trek Online Revealed’ with Leonard Nimoy [UPDATED]

At1:30 PM (Pacific) Cryptic Studios held their ‘Star Trek Online Revealed’ event at the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention. Leonard Nimoy helped them unveil this exciting new massive multiplayer Star Trek game. The presentation lived up to its name and revealed much about the new game, we have video, details and new screenshots below.


First Details Emerge On New Star Trek Online + New In Game Images

Tomorrow Cryptic Studios holds their "Star Trek Online Revealed" panel at the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention (with a little help from Leonard Nimoy), but some details of this new MMORPG have already emerged. Cryptic’s Chief Creative Officer gave a pre-show interview to the AP that provided some details, plus CBS showed a few new screenshots at their Products presentation on Friday.

Review: Star Trek Remastered Season Two DVD Set

The second season of Star Trek is arguably the best season of the franchise. With classics like "Mirror, Mirror," "Amok Time," "Journey to Babel," "Trouble With Tribbles," and "The Doomsday Machine," Season Two has everything from humor, to character development, to ship on ship action. Although many are waiting to see the digitally remastered episodes on Blu-ray, the standard def. set arrives next week and is very tempting.

[Not Enough] Star Trek On The iPhone

J.J. Abrams is fond of saying that iPhones do more than an Original Series communicator (except speak directly to a ship in orbit, but lets not get picky). Recently Apple upgraded the iPhone software to '2.0' and launched the official Apple’s App Store. The service offers almost 1,000 free and paid apps in numerous categories. The only problem — a serious lack of Trek applications!


Season Three DVD Of Star Trek Remastered Arrives In November

Today CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment announced the third season DVD set for the digitally remastered Star Trek. The set will hit the streets November 18th, which is one year after Season One arrived (on HD DVD / DVD combo). Season Two arrives in stores next week. CBS does not have any more details or box art, but TVShowsOnDVD has some preliminary artwork.

Countdown To Cryptic’s Star Trek Online Announcement Ends Tonight

Since January when TrekMovie first linked Cryptic Studios and the MMORPG Star Trek Online (formerly being developed by Perpetual), it has become one of the worst kept secrets in the gaming biz. In early June Cryptic put up an un-labeled (but clearly Star Trek Online related) countdown timer on their website, and it hits 0:00 at midnight tonight (Pacific).
