The Star Trek sequel starts shooting next month and the team is busy casting, but details on the film are still being kept under wraps. At a gala event last Thursday, the returning Star Trek stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and (new star) Alice Eve joined producer/director JJ Abrams at a charity event in Beverly Hills, where some revealed they still haven’t seen the sequel script. Design Vets Returning For Star Trek TNG in HD Project + Sampler Blu-ray Available For Pre-order

Besides the 2013 Star Trek sequel, the other big thing going on these days is the Star Trek: The Next Generation Remastered project. Just in time for the 25th anniversary in 2012, CBS is bringing the show into the HD world. And now it has been revealed that some of the great design vets from the series are back to help the project along. Watch: Simon Pegg’s Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol Featurette

Star Trek sequel producer/director JJ Abrams has one last thing to get off his desk and that is the release of Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol on December 21st. Also returning for the fourth Mission is Star Trek’s new Scotty Simon Pegg, reprising his role as Benji the tech. Paramount has released a featurette and clip with Pegg. Director JJ Abrams has already confirmed he is considering Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro to play the villain for his Star Trek sequel. Trek Nation: Director’s Log Featuring Deleted Interview Clips Available Online [UPDATED]

Earlier this week Rod Roddenberry’s documentary Trek Nation premiered on the Science Channel. The Star Trek-themed documentary was the result of many years of work and as you would expect there is a lot of footage that didn’t make it into the final cut for TV. Now the director of the documentary is putting up some of these deleted scenes and interviews on YouTube. On his Comedy Central show Stephen Colbert often makes Star Trek references so it isn’t a surprise that when he sat down for a chat about science with astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson the subject turned to Trek. Star Trek Online Season 5 Goes Live

Today the massive multiplayer online game Star Trek Online has just been given another big update with the release of Season 5. The new update titled "Call To Arms" contains new missions for both the Federation and the Klingons along with a number of new features.
