Star Trek Trailer Warps Into [Some] Theaters

The wait is over– the new Bond film Quantum of Solace premieres today and it comes with a little extra bonus in the form of a trailer for the new Star Trek movie. The Trek trailer will be available online next week, so until then you have to go to the theaters (where it should be seen anyway). We have a summary of trailer news and Bond facts below. Big Reaction To New Enterprise – New Designer Responds

The new USS Enterprise released yesterday has spawned dozens if not hundreds of articles across the globe in the mainstream press and the geekosphere. Reaction here at TrekMovie has been running at one comment every 49 seconds for 24 hours straight. In that deluge are a few notables, including former Star Trek designer Rick Sternbach and the designer of the new ship, Ryan Church.



More Star Trek Movie Toys Available For Pre-order [UPDATED]

While most fan attention this week is on the upcoming Star Trek movie trailer, there is big news regarding movie toys which should put collector fans into apoplexy. Today, the first pre-sale listings for Playmates mass-market 3.75” inch action figures based on the movie have shown up online, and again the toys reveal points about the film (and raise some questions).



TrekMovie Review of new Star Trek Trailer

Today TrekMovie was invited down to Paramount Pictures to get the exclusive first (USA) look at the new trailer for the Star Trek movie. The ‘play by plays’ for this trailer have already been reported here (from the official UK press screening) and spy reports, and they are mostly accurate, so I will not go over that ground again. 20 Minutes of Star Trek Previewed In UK [UPDATED]

As reported last month, JJ Abrams is doing a ‘road show’ to promote the Star Trek film to people in the press, publicity and distribution. His first stop was today in London, where he was joined by Simon Pegg. They showed off the new trailer as well as four scenes from the film. The first reports are online now. More Details Emerge For New Home Of Star Trek The Experience

Last month we reported that Star Trek The Experience (which closed its doors at the Las Vegas Hilton in September) may be resurrected at a new location. Since that time TrekMovie as well as local Las Vegas journalists have confirmed that Star Trek The Experience is moving to a new home at Neonopolis, in downtown Las Vegas.  Today some new details have emerged.
