Harve Bennett Criticizes Star Trek 2009 + Talks ‘Starfleet Academy’ Movie & More

Last Saturday Harve Bennett, producer of four Star Trek films, did a Q&A at a screening of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home in Ashland Oregon, where he talked about his time on Trek, his never-produced Starfleet Academy movie, and he offered a critical opinion of JJ Abrams 2009 Star Trek movie. Syfy Cancels Ron Moore’s Caprica + Moore Talks Trek Technobabble & Nitpickers

The critically acclaimed, but very, very low-rated, sci-fi drama series Caprica, co-created by Star Trek vet Ron Moore, has been canceled by Syfy, the network announced today. Five original episodes remain to be aired but they’ll be pulled from the schedule effective immediately. Details On “The Captains of the Final Frontier” Bio Channel Documentary Airing Next Week

On Wednesday, November 03 at 9 pm (ET) the Bio Channel will air a new two-hour Star Trek-focused documentary called “The Captains of the Final Frontier”. Unlike William Shatner’s The Captains documentary about the actors who played captains, this Bio Channel doc will focus on the fictional characters themselves. One again Apple’s new iPad has crossed paths with Star Trek, this time revealing a tidbit about the upcoming sequel. Today the New York Times has an article about iPads being used in Hollywood, with an example of how Star Trek co-writer Roberto Orci used his in a meeting with the Star Trek ‘Supreme Court’, excerpt below.
