Ever made up your own dialog while watching Star Trek with the sound off? Well, that is the premise of a a new viral video going around this week, that even made it onto G4’s Attack of the Show. Let’s just hope that this isn’t what Star Trek The Next Generation looks like to lip readers.

JJ Abrams Star Trek continues to build steam in its quest for award season glory. Today the prestigious National Board of Review of Motion Pictures named its top 11 films of the year and Star Trek is on the list. Plus Google reports that Star Trek is named one of the top movie searches of they year.
Star Trek’s new Uhura, Zoe Saldana’s will next be seen (rendered in 3D CGI as the Na’vi princess Neytiri) in James Cameron’s new sci-fi epic Avatar. The actress is gearing up for lots of press for the film, including a live chat today with the director and other stars. There is also a chance for you to submit questions to another Q&A. Composer Michael Giacchino has a lot to celebrate as last night he was nominated for four Grammy Awards by The Recording Academy, including one for his Star Trek soundtrack. The other three nominations were for his work on the Disney/Pixar movie Up. This is the first time a Star Trek production has been nominated for a Grammy. See below for details.
JJ Abrams may have cut the Klingons out of his Star Trek movie, but they are at the heart of Cryptic’s upcoming Star Trek Online MMORPG. In a clever marketing movie, today Cryptic launched Tweetinklingon.com which helps you use the popular Twitter system, in Klingon.
The final Star Trek novel from Pocket Books in 2009 takes us into the mirror universe, with David Mack’s "The Sorrows of Empire". Originally a novella in the 2007 "Glass Empires" anthology, Mack has expanded the story of Mirror Spock’s rise to power in the Terran Empire. From its humble beginnings, the Star Trek franchise has taken the science in its science-fiction seriously. Over the decades many ‘Treknologies’ have become realities, while some are still only theoretical. It is these kinds of concepts that will be the subject of a new Science Chanel show premiering tonight, where physicist Michio Kaku explores "Sci-Fi Science: Physics of the Impossible".
As we have reported before, James Cawley’s production team are branching out from their ‘fan made’ work on Star Trek Phase II, to do a new web series based on Buck Rogers, but this time it is fully licensed and authorized. The show will premiere in 2010 and today they released the first teaser trailer. Check it out below.
2009 has been a big year for Star Trek on Blu-ray and the final release arrives in December with Star Trek Season Three. JJ Abrams Star Trek has been doing well with the ‘popularity contest’ type of awards (Scream Awards & Hollywood Awards), but now it is time to get serious. With the end of the year comes the beginning for awards season. This is now being kicked off by the "For Your Consideration" promotional campaigns from the studios. For 2009, Paramount has around 20 eligible films, and they have selected four for their awards campaign, including JJ Abrams Star Trek.

JJ Abrams movie has wrapped up its first week in the home video market and (just like with theatrical release) it is topping the charts.
