Viral Video: The Death And Return of Superman (featuring Simon Pegg cameo)

A new nerdy short film is going viral around the web this week. Created by Max Landis, writer for the recently released sci-fi film Chronicle (and son of director John Landis), the film features Max retelling the story of the death of Superman from DC comics in the early 90s. It also features a number of celebrity cameos, including Star Trek’s Simon Pegg.



Orci Tweets Behind Scenes Photos From (Last) Star Trek Production [UPDATED]

To up his follower count on Twitter, Star Trek co-writer producer Roberto Orci has been suggesting he will send out an image or two from the set of the new Star Trek sequel currently in production. While he tries to sort that out, today he sent out some "appetizer" photos from his personal collection of behind the scenes shots during production of the 2009 Star Trek movie. Chris Pine took some time out from playing Captain Kirk for the currently filming Star Trek sequel to travel to the UK yesterday for the premier of his new action comedy, This Means War. Orci Talks Star Trek Sequel Script “Polish” + Reveals Bit On Time Passed Between Films

Earlier this week we reported how Star Trek’s new Spock (Zachary Quinto) had made a comment about how the script for the Star Trek sequel currently in production is still going through changes. Cumberbatch Picks Up UK Theater Acting Award + Quinto’s Margin Call & Plummer Nominated For Oscars

Yesterday brought good awards news for two actors working on the Star Trek sequel. First up Benedict Cumberbatch won an acting award for his work on the UK stage in the play Frankenstein. Plus Zachary Quinto’s first film as a producer picked up an Oscar nomination for writing. Star Trek VI’s Christopher Plummer also picked up an Oscar nomination. As reported earlier, Paramount Pictures had their first float today as part of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Celebrating their centennial, the studio’s float featured some icons from Paramount films, including the USS Enterprise soaring over the Paramount mountain and gate. First Trailer For Prometheus – Alien Prequel Written By Damon Lindelof

We wont be getting a new Star Trek movie until the summer of 2013, but sequel co-writer/producer Damon Lindelef does have a big sci-fi movie coming out next summer: Prometheus. New Vulcan Story Coming To Star Trek Comics In March
