First Trailer For Alex Kurtzman’s ‘People Like Us’ Starring Chris Pine

Another Summer film we are looking forward to is People Like Us (formerly Welcome To People), the directorial debut of Star Trek co-writer/producer Alex Kurtzman which also stars Star Trek’s Chris Pine. The film was written and produced by Kurtzman and his Trek writing partner Roberto Orci. The first trailer has just been released, check it out below.

Yesterday Simon Pegg took some time out from shooting the Star Trek sequel to appear on Conan to promote the home video release of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. He didn’t reveal anything about the Trek sequel but did talk about torturing his Twitter followers and his mancrush on Tom Cruise. Watch it below  


Watch: More Prometheus Footage Revealed

The original plan was for us to get the Star Trek sequel this June, but we will have to wait until next May for new Trek. However we here at TrekMovie are almost as excited over another June 2012 film – Prometheus, the Alien universe film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Trek co-producer/writer Damon Lindelof. Pegg Remains Mum On Star Trek Sequel Plot + Poll: Too Much Trek Secrecy

This week we reported that director JJ Abrams has literally erected a wall around location shooting on the Star Trek sequel. And in the latest comment from Simon Pegg (aka the new Scotty) shows that this quest to maintain the film experience has been "installed" into the actors as well. Comic Preview: First New Story In Star Trek Movie Universe + Star Trek/Legion of Super-heroes #6

On Wednesday IDW releases the 7th issue of the new Star Trek comic series set in the new movie universe, and the first issue to tell an entirely original story (instead of a spin on a classic episode). A couple of Star Trek luminaries are set to return to TV screens (in addition to Leonard Nimoy heading to The Big Bang Theory). Saldana & Quinto Talk Leaked Sequel Photos – Say Abrams Is Upset

The leaked photos from the Star Trek sequel set have flown around the internet and created a lot of buzz, along with proving some spoilers for the film. Over the weekend a couple Star Trek stars attending award shows talked about the leaks and JJ Abrams isn’t too happy. Zoe Saldana also talked about her new co-star Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto talked about the challenges of making the movie. Watch the videos below.


Quinto wins 2 Spirit Awards + Pine and Saldana Present + Plummer wins Oscar [PIX & VIDEO]

On Saturday Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto picked up a couple of Independent Spirit awards for Margin Call, for his debut film as a producer. Also on hand presenting at the Spirit Awards was his co-stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana. And in a small Star Trek world connection, Saldana presented a Spirit award to Christopher Plummer (Chang from STVI). Plummer also won an Oscar on Sunday. Chris Pine, Star Trek’s new Kirk, has a new movie opening today (This Means War) so last night he took some time off from shooting the sequel set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While there Chris talked briefly about shooting Trek, travel, cartoon crushes, and his Kardashian connection. Jimmy also arranged a phone call with Chris’ high school crush Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer). Watch it below.




Star Trek (2009) Basic Cable Premiere On FX Tuesday + Chance To Win Movie Tickets

The 2009 Star Trek movie makes its basic cable TV premiere this week on the FX Network. Bruce Greenwood: ‘Content’ With Pike’s Role In Star Trek sequel

Bruce Greenwood made no secret of the fact that he wanted to return to the role of Christopher Pike for the Star Trek sequel. And last month we revealed he got his wish. In a new interview promoting his new show The River, Greenwood talked about returning to Trek and how he is "content" with Pike’s role in the sequel.

Star Trek co-write producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are working on bringing the vampire Lestat back to the big screen. A new report says the pair are working with some other big Hollywood names and Anne Rice on a deal for her fourth vampire book "The Tale of the Body Thief," In other Orci news, he has tweeted some more of his photos from the last Star Trek movie.



Viral Video: The Death And Return of Superman (featuring Simon Pegg cameo)

A new nerdy short film is going viral around the web this week. Created by Max Landis, writer for the recently released sci-fi film Chronicle (and son of director John Landis), the film features Max retelling the story of the death of Superman from DC comics in the early 90s. It also features a number of celebrity cameos, including Star Trek’s Simon Pegg.
