George Takei, Star Trek’s original Sulu, is featured in a new video which is going viral this week with over 1/4 views in just over a day. One of the highlights of the 2009 Star Trek movie (and hopefully the 2013 sequel Into Darkness) is the music of Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino. Earlier today Paramount took their Star Trek Into Darkness promotional tour to London where Brit stars Alice Eve and Bendedict Cumberbatch previewed the movie prologue and had a Q&A with the press, joined by producer Bryan Burk. There were some new details revealed, including a target run time for the movie and more information about Eve and Cumberbatch’s characters. Star Trek Into Darkness director JJ Abrams isn’t spilling all the beans but he did a video interview where he talked a bit about the villain in his new film and his motivation. He also talked about how (like with his 2009 movie) his focus was to make Star Trek Into Darkness work with all movie fans and not just Trek fans. Excerpts and video below (minor spoilers).

Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation was released on Blu-ray yesterday and the set includes an extended version of "Measure of a Man," one of Trek’s most memorable episodes. In a new interview Sir Patrick Stewart talks about how that is one of the few early TNG episodes he can even remember. He also talks about show’s attempts at romance with Picard. Excerpts below.

Star Trek’s George Takei has taken a bold new step into the world of comics. The actor is taking his advocacy to the world of comic books by appearing as himself this week in Archie Comics’ "Kevin Keller," a new series about the only gay teen in Riverdale. More details below.
As we reported yesterday, JJ Abrams brought footage of Star Trek Into Darkness (along with stars Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch) to Tokyo to promote the film to Asian press. Before JJ Abrams jetted off to Tokyo to show the Japanese press some of Star Trek: Into Darkness on IMAX, the producer/director showed up at an event celebrating 100 episodes of Fringe over the weekend. While there Abrams spoke a bit about how the Star Trek Into Darkness footage is "mind-blowing." More details below.
Still months away from its debut, and we’re learning more and more about Star Trek Into Darkness. Last week, Paramount released the official synopsis for the film, and now we have the first official teaser poster as well. Star Trek’s new Kirk Chris Pine is currently shooting on another big role for Jack Ryan. In a new interview promoting Rise of the Guardians, Pine discussed the differences in stepping into Jack Ryan’s shoes to Kirk’s space boots, noting how William Shatner is more iconic. Watch the video bellow.
