As reported earlier, tomorrow Entertainment Weekly has a Star Trek Into Darkness cover feature with two collectible covers. Some fans have spotted something on the order page at Entertainment Weekly that seems to confirm the identity of the movie’s villain. Did it really? Well not exactly. Once again William Shatner is weighing in on his lack of participation in the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies. Bill seems to believe that JJ Abrams doesn’t know what to do with him and he appears dubious about why they never told him about the scene they wrote for him in the 2009 movie. The recently relaunched Geek Magazine features a cover story in its new issue about Star Trek, including a roundtable discussion with a number of notable Treksperts, including Brannon Braga and David Goodman. The two-hour talk includes a lot of interesting stuff including Braga talking about his original plan for Star Trek Enterprise. Before Star Trek Into Darkness was scripted the filmmakers had said they were hoping to make a film that was more relevant to the issues of the day. In a newly released video interview excerpt, the actor who plays the film’s villain notes that the parallels to the modern world are "chilling." Star Trek had a presence beyond just the Into Darkness ad at yesterday’s Super Bowl. In addition two Star Trek celebs made it into commercials: Zoe Saldana for Bud Light and Wil Wheaton for Lincoln. On Friday TrekMovie reported a story about how Paramount, Bad Robot and director JJ Abrams were going to grant a dying fan’s wish to see an early preview of Star Trek Into Darkness.
