After taking a weekend off for 4th of July, the Summer STAR TREK Simply 70 Spectacular-Spectacular Saturdays continues tonight at the Royal Theater in West L.A. with a 70 MM showing of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, preceded by a Q&A session with Uhura herself, Nichelle Nichols. Collectors Pick Up Good Deals At Julien’s Star Trek Auction

The second of this summer’s three big Star Trek auctions happened Sunday. The Julien’s auction was different in that it had fewer actual props and costumes and was mostly the Gene and Majel Roddenberry estate sale, along with a number of items from William Shatner. Overall, the auctions was a success for collectors because of reasonable prices, including the few 2009 Star Trek movie items.

Avatar Dominates Saturn Awards: Star Trek Wins For Make-Up + Nimoy Wins For Fringe

Tonight The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films held their 36th Annual Saturn Awards. The 2009  Star Trek movie went into the night with 6 nominations, but it was Avatar that dominated, picking up ten awards. Star Trek picked up one Saturn, as did including Leonard Nimoy (for Fringe). Star Trek writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman also picked up a special award.

For the last week Sir Patrick Stewart, Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Jean Luc Picard, has been attending the Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland as the chair of the Jury. And on Monday night Stewart was the subject of BAFTA Scotland Interview where he spoke about his career on stage and screen, including Star Trek. Full video of that event and more below.

Last weekend a number of Trek celebrities attended Wizard World’s Philadelphia Comic Con, including Next Generation stars Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner. And in video available online (below) you can see Spiner talking about (not) appearing in the new Star Trek movies and the death of Data, plus another video shows Spiner hilariously crash Stewart’s Q&A session.

Over the weekend the annual Pedalpalooza was held in Portland, Oregon. The four day festival celebrating cycling included a number of events and rides, including a "Star Trek vs Star Trek" ride on Saturday. On June 25th & 26th, the town of Riverside IA will hold its 26th annual TrekFest. Part town fair and part Star Trek convention, this year Riverside (aka "the future birthplace of James T.
