As we have been reporting, the first draft of the script for the Star Trek sequel isn’t quite done yet, but Paramount is still planning to get production started in the fall to meet that June 29, 2012 release date. According to a new report, Paramount Pictures has shuffled their production schedule and moved the shoot for their planned Jack Ryan reboot (starring Chris Pine) into 2012. The studio hoped they could film Moscow before the Star Trek sequel, but script problems for the Jack Ryan film have forced them to swap the order around. So far it looks like the Trek sequel is still on track to shoot later this year.

The 2012 Star Trek sequel just got some more competition. Tonight it was announced a live-action adaptation of Snow White, with a cast headed by Julia Roberts, will open June 29th, 2012, the same day as the Star Trek sequel.
