TrekMovie.com has arranged with PalTalk to have the first question come from from a TrekMovie.com community member (details below).

They were never able to get William Shatner to appear on Star Trek Enterprise, but now the Enterprise captain will be appearing on Shatner’s show. TV Guide is reporting that Bakula landed a guest spot on Boston Legal. Bakula joins other main cast Trek stars who have appeared on Boston Legal: Armin Shimerman, Ethan Phillips, and Jeri Ryan and of course Rene Auberjonois. TrekMovie.com has learned that Bakula has already shot his scenes, but unfortunately they are not with Shatner. Takei Talks Heroes, TOS-R and ST08

Today seems to be Sulu Day. George Takei may not be appearing in the new Star Trek movie, but the man who originated Sulu still has some thoughts on his past life and the future of the franchise. Regarding why The Original Series seems to be ‘hot’ again (with Trek Remastered and the new Star Trek movie), Takei cites Gene Roddenberry’s vision. He tells Dreamwatch…

Captain Picard to the podium! Today Patrick Stewart was named the Best Actor of 2007 at the Evening Standard Theater Awards. All of us who believe the best possible theatre should be in London are thrilled.” Stewart told the Telegraph “”I’ve never won an award like this, so it’s brilliant. Ron Moore Blogs About Time Writing For Trek

Two weeks ago TNG and DS9 writer (and Battlestar Galactica co creator) Ronald D. Moore set up his own blog mostly focusing on issues related to the WGA strike. However, yesterday Moore delved into his time as a cub writer for TNG in a post titled “The Trek Journals — One in an Occasional Series.” Moore recalls a particularly amusing anecdote about how the writers would spy on meetings between executive producer Rick Berman and show runner Michael Piller:

Takei Trashes Paramount, Enterprise and DS9

Before you can say “oh my” there are more frank opinions from George Takei (see previous article). In the second part of iF Magazine’s interview with the original Sulu, the actor lets loose on his opinion of post Roddenberry Trek. Regarding why the ‘Star Trek Excelsior’ Series never happened, Takei claims that Paramount ignored what the fans wanted, saying: There was a flood of letters from every corner of the world advocating for this Excelsior series and then Paramount suddenly decided they didn’t want fan advice or participation and went ahead and did what they wanted to anyway with ENTERPRISE; which was a disastrous failure.

Review – Star Trek: The Original Series Season One HD DVD Box Set [UPDATED]

Last September CBS commemorated the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek by going back to the original 35mm films and digitally remastering them for the HD era. The project not only cleaned up the images, but also added brand new CGI to replace the original shots that wouldn’t hold up well to the microscope of 1080p HD. This ‘Star Trek Remastered’ has been seen in syndication, but only in standard definition. Now finally with the release of Star Trek The Original Series on DVD/HD DVD Combo disk you can finally see the remastered show in full HDTV resolution, as it was intended to be seen. Plus the set comes complete with many new special features, many of which take advantage of the interactive features of HD DVD.

Takei Talks Old and New Trek + Return To Heroes

Star Trek legend George Takei, who originated the role of Mr. Sulu, may have acquired new popularity with his role on Heroes but he’s still perfectly willing to talk Trek. In an interview with the UK’s Daily Record, Takei calls Trek “an amazing phenomenon,” despite the low ratings his show received during its original run. At the beginning of each episode we’d say we were on a five-year mission, but it wasn’t the Klingons we did battle with, it was the program executives at Paramount who aborted our five-year mission after just three.

Nimoy Responds To Shatner’s Recent Comments

As recently as August Leonard Nimoy was still saying that he thought the new Star Trek movie would be better off with William Shatner in it. However, The New York Times is reporting that Nimoy is ‘not sympathetic’ to Shatner’s latest complaints about the film. In the Times ‘Arts, Briefly’ section Nimoy is also quoted as saying: I know he’s upset, but his character died three movies ago, so it would have been very difficult to get him into this one.
